I agree with him completely that many of the lesser known arts are dying out and that society seems in whole to of turned its back on the traditional rigors of Kung Fu practice I know in the near 20...
Sounds dodgey to me. I was always encouraged to ask questions of my teacher, so long as they were not stupid ones that would get me an hour push in horse stance! ;)
Just saw the trailer on youtube and have to say I'm not impressed in the slightest.
While I know for the audiences the choreography needs to be modern and flashy to look good I personally thought...
Just a quick question for the Northern Shaolin guys.
Did you note down/get taught the movement names in the SGB?
Thanks in advance,
Awesome find Mickey, so much more vibrant in this video than his later ones. Maximum Respect to him!
You mean one really really long form??? :-)
In BSL we have a large number of forms and your right I dont get a chance to practice them all in one sitting each day (I wish!). Each of our forms concentrates on a main theme so I make that...
Thanks Gene.
I didn't know he had written these articles. I'll order them now!
Thank you for coming back to me Mickey - I've got all the one Rick Wing has put out so far, very good reads :)
WOW I don't know how I missed that one my Wing Lam, just ordered it.
Hi all,
Anyone got any good book recommendations on or surrounding the subject of Northern Shaolin Kung Fu, if possible following the Ku Yu CHeung Lineage?
Thanks in advance.
:)
That goes for me too.
WJM is one of the teachers I look up to regardless of the "Incident". I hope that one day he does write something about his life and his journey as a martial artist.
Keep...
Today I'm going with the Spear :)
I would definitely buy a book like that.
I've got all the books in that series and they are a great read, perfect reference material for any BSL players or anyone interested in BSL.
Awesome find!
Gene, pretty sure its a typo ;)
Although it could be a super awesome crazy style not yet made public!!
I find his fights entertaining BUT that being said he is far too ****y in the ring and the ****y element alone makes me question whether he is a "Shaolin Monk"?
Hi All,
First post - it was bound to happen sooner or later!
Just a question to my BSL Brothers. Do you know any branch of Northern Shaolin (Ku Yu Cheung's) that does not teach a full extention...
