I can't wear Feiyues anymore (not enough arch support), but those are pretty sweet designs.
You almost certainly met him...but you probably meet just about everyone—I would never be able to keep everyone straight, I'm terrible with names. :p
Thank you.
This is a little late, but I was hoping someone closer to him would post on this.
Fu was my teacher's primary teacher in his youth and I have trained with him maybe a dozen times, but I didn't...
I'm glad it's still getting enough traffic to keep maintaining. There's a wealth of hard to come by information buried in those flame wars.:D
I don't know, but I would love it if that happened.
This forum was an amazing place. I haven't seen anything else like it.
So I was just poking around on the internet feeling nostalgic and I thought I'd look up the Kunming Shaolin Temple and see what's been going on there. A lot apparently:

I hear ya. Celiac and it's like are no joke. Actually my college has purportedly the first gluten free college dining hall in the nation because a couple of students were getting sick just from...
That’s also true. And MSG can be toxic...but the lethal dose for rats is five times the lethal dose of salt. Not that it’s necessarily the same for us... But we’ll die from lack of salt too. Gotta...
MSG is good stuff. Naturally occurring in a lot of food we eat, including tomatoes, mushrooms, aged meat, and fermented foods...shows up when protein chains break down. It can really help when...
I know that school. We got some of their students. I think Amherst is better off with the dispensary. 😝
Hahaha! This is awesome. Big fan of Ginsberg, had no idea he'd taken up taiji. :D
Newsweak.
Sad what can be passed off as journalism.
I'm about halfway through this now. Really well done. This is a great resource.
I wish you much success with this endeavor and look forward to future productions.
Gong xi fa cai.
Cool. Good to know.
That was about 15 months ago.
That's strange. I'm not going to begin to speculate on the name change...maybe you have better insight into why that would be.
Ha! First pick in that last post on the right is Shi Hengbo. He was my favorite teacher at the Kunming Shaolin Temple. He's a good guy. Nice.
I'm sure the opinions run the full gamut--they're people, after all. I suspect the tendency is toward open-mindedness though, since the Shaolin cannon itself is composed of numerous different...
Thanks! Great to get some new input from you on this form.
Sorry to hear your elder teacher passed.
Awesome. Glad you finally decided it was time to start sharing, you've collected so much good information. I learned a lot when we met up, still practicing, great to see some more. Good stuff!
Well, that's it for China this year. In Bangkok now for a couple days, then a few days in Bali, and then back home. Four weeks in China flew by. I will miss it, but I will be back. They are giving...
Tomorrow I leave Kunming. And China. Have a few days in Bangkok and a few in Bali. Then go home.
Spent most of the last two days at Shaolin Temple. Training with Shi Hengbo was once again a...
Went down to Erhail Lake yesterday. Very pretty. The walk back up to Dali old city was really nice too. Walking down country lanes and seeing rural China up close. Usually end up just driving by...
There we go! View from atop the city wall.
