I've trained WT (4 yrs EWTO and 4 yrs Hong Kong WT) so I'm not a beginner. I haven't been training WT for a while mainly due to Instructors taking advantage and more interested in making money. I've...
Duende is correct-it depends on range and situation
ideally i would be attacking and offlining when opponent comes into range
My arm in contact with opponents arm
pretty hard to defend yourself against a punch from close range unless you have already bridged with opponent
To be fair to Lone Tiger that video clip was poor
I purchased a copy of Demille's book on the inch punch a decade ago. I think he talks about falling/dropping your body and lifting the back heel up as you strike.
chain punch with step
I know some call it Caveman(low level) wing chun but it has saved me a few times in street attacks
Police just use CS spray in England instead of fancy locks
Fair enough.
Does Leo Nagao practise chi sao training or is he just training the body structure hitting ?
how many featherfisted pro boxers are there compared to pro boxers with impressive KO records?
what is Dempsey's KO record?
The wing chun punching mechanics that I was taught are very similar to Dempsey's!
Paulie Maglianaggi :D
Alan Orr's fighter are using old school boxing and they throw thai roundhouse kicks. Also seen a bit of his videos and he was showing body punch defence that is standard in boxing.
I know this isn't wing chun but what do think of this short power generation in escrima?

Whn I land a punch on my opponent I consider that as a "bridge"
Boxer has a significant reach advantage
And wing chunner has a sandcastle chin :D
Grappling and pulling opponents pants down is superior:

I've seen pics of Amir Khan with the same S&C coach as Manny Pac...hitting a heavy bag with a baseball bat
He learnt his power punching from a boxercise class run by a professional fighter
Do you have source/studies proving this?
How do you guys find the time and money to train in all these martial arts?
How about answering my question?
Which skilled pro/amatuer fighters have you been training with?
