It is well documented and accepted that Suxi, who entered Shaolin in the 1930s, was one...
Plenty of people can fight at Shaolin, plenty of people can't fight at Shaolin.
If you need to find fighters and have the right contacts you surely can, both sanda based or more "traditional".

Shawn Liu aka Shi De Ru is the real deal, and therefore the school should be good; I'd just check who teaches most classes, if De Ru himself or some instructors, and if so what is their competency.

Europe this year has had the warmest autumn in history (as in since any records were kept!). The alpine glaciers (the few remaining anyway, given the huge % decrease in the past 30 years) kept on...
This is a very non-scientific explanation and I'm sure others here will greatly improve on it, however here it goes (the info is from my own small research on the topic caused by my own "hip popping"...
I opened my own school two years ago and I must say that the hardest part was learning how to be a teacher.
By that I don't mean how to teach ... in 20 years of CMA I've learned from some...
I know what you mean, last time I was there, last year, the school was in a really poor state and yet he would always be such grateful host, sharing the little they had.

Spot on Gene, I've been talking all along about the DengFeng town and immediately surrounding area only, as clearly and repeatedly explained, but Bung just wants to read it otherwise so he can troll...
You know, it's unusual, you've managed to somewhat irritate me :) That speaks volumes about your trolling skills, as I very rarely get irritated, bravo!
I conclude by saying:
1 - I'm not...
I never said any of that...? Are you sure you are referring to my post? Please go read my post again :)
Oh I forgot, aren't you that guy that never reads other people posts and keeps trying to...
Yes to both questions, however his school is in pretty poor conditions even by DengFeng standards and I'm not sure most foreigners could handle staying there.
Shi De Yang is very famous yet...
Bungbukuen, you are partly incorrect.
Many people at Shaolin (DengFeng), many of the people I've known personally, have substantially increased their earnings, and now support their otherwise...
From my experiences there are 4 broad groups of locals:
1 - the Shaolin (DengFeng) rural population - poor
2 - the population working in the martial arts sector (teaching, running schools, etc)...
I agree completely :)
However as it would be impossible to make a 'fits-all' program I decided to structure it on a format that best fits my strenghts as a teacher, that can appeal to a reasonably...
Hi Boulder, I think it's because our classes are athletically quite intensive and most older people feel it's too much for them when they come to see. We had a few people in their late 40s early 50s...
My experience since opening my school in september 2004 (so two years in one week time) has been roughly as follows:
30% quit within 6 months
20% quit within 1 year
10% quit within 1.5 years...
Think 'Lance Armstrong' (relatively similar illness, and similar therapies) ... you can definitely come back training HARD once you are cured. In fact perhaps harder than before, given the mental...

Hi, first rule of efficient communication: listen (or in this case read) carefully other people's points.
I wrote: "XingHong's latest students are the Hungarian special forces...".
XingHONG, not...
bungbukuen ..... it's not my custom to enter other people's discussions not so much to contribute but simply to "take sides" ..... but your persistence is really overwhealming.
Instead of putting...
Hi ... I'm not sure what you trying to get at ... we are talking about wushu taolu champions ... so when I say sword (or spear, or anything else) champion I mean winner of the chinese / world wushu...
Hi, just to add some info, I'm pretty sure she's the wife of my friend Zhang Ji Dong (can never remember her name ... never actually met her as she was always travelling).

Zhao Qing Jian is a really great guy and great wushu athlete, one of the best in recent years IMO.
As a kid he studied under Shi Xing Hong at Shaolin; SXH was about 4-5 years older than ZQJ and was...
