I have a bottle of Moutai stored in my cabinet. Wonder how much it's worth now?
I should've gone into the liquor biz...
Every time I post to this thread, I kick myself for not investing on the ground floor.
There's a Costco in Shanghai?
This looks like a fun read.
...for someone propounding to be an expert on China business, how could he be surprised by the expansion of Moutai this late in the game?
“international baijiu sommelier” - never thought I'd hear that term. :D
I've had many Chinese beers and found them to be pretty decent in China - surprisingly good considering that I'm no fan of Tsingtao.
I've also had Chinese wine, which was horrid. My first trip...
I was debating about separating Moutai into an indie thread from this Baijiu thread because while Moutai is a form of Baijiu (like Johnnie Walker is a form of whiskey), it's a specific brand. But...

The baijiu would kill any taste. They are called MEALworms, after all.
I don't even like baijiu that much but I think I could still ace this exam. ;)
Woah, how did we miss the 1st World Baijiu Day? Maybe we were there and just blacked it out? Cuz baijiu will do that for sure. :o
It's been a few years since I've had a shot of moutai. I'm feeling a strange craving for it now.
Answer: a junkie.
I find this all so amusing. I'm going to start bringing baijiu to parties, just to be avante garde.
