I stumbled upon these old Chinese Wushu pictures on a Chinese language page - best I can tell it says it comes from the PRC from 1962 but I did not see it mentioned where these were published (book...
I have a few questions regarding Southern White Crane and how they do eye attacks. I have alittle bit of background in Wing Chun, so I am familiar with moves like Biu Jee, which I would describe as a...
I have heard references to Chinese comic-books of perhaps the 1950s-1960s , either that or martial art novels
from the same era that focus on the supernatural and martial power of Tai Chi Chuan...
Hello all,
I am not extremely familiar with long arm drills so I could use some help identifying this. My first guess was from Choy Li Fut, Hung Ga, or Tibetan White Crane?

"the snake crane wing chun secret note and the yik kam wing chun siu lim tau instruction note."
Is it just text or picture/drawing instruction as well? Would love to see these myself
Hey Everybody,
I was curious about the similarities and differences between Southern Chinese Martial Arts as it relates to bridging and their theories about it.
For example, one art might only...
According to Siu Hon Sang, Gong Li Quan (Kung Lik Kune) was the first form he taught Bruce during their 1958-1959 training time. He went on to teach him Jie Quan, and Beng Bu Quan among elements of...
hskwarrior,
My understanding is that Taky Kimura is getting old/ill and is selling off alot of the items Bruce gave to him over the years. This includes alot of gung fu manuals that Bruce would...
This is an auction for a book Bruce Lee gave to his friend Taky Kimura. Taky mistakenly calls it a CLF book but in reality its Tan Tui/Tom Toy.
Mickey,
I think they are his handwriting. It is very hard to see on the picture I provided but he used a typewriter to type "spring", "summer", below the figures.
Top line I believe translates to...
I am trying to hunt down the original Chinese book source for this picture. It shows Dim Mak (点脈) points on 4 people, each with different seasons listed by them (Spring, Summer, etc). The picture...

MarathonTmatt,
Thankyou for the lengthy response!
Would you consider Hua Quan a Northern Shaolin style?
Unfortunately I dont speak Cantonese.....any idea what Lao Sing Choy would translate as? Choy is fist but dont know about the other two.
Any CLF people ever heard of a backfist (gwa choy) variation called the Lao Sing Choy? It was described to me as coming down vertically to strike the head or even the limb.
Thanks
This picture has been floating around the internet for awhile...anybody know the book it came from? Im trying to find its source.
Thanks!...
It is my understanding that 'Hua' can refer to "Flowery Fist", Hua (the Mountain Range) as well has being a term for China in general.
So, how can one distinguish between somebody using "Hua Quan"...
Thanks guys!
I am confident at least some of those prints are originally from an older Chinese manual of some kind, possibly one of those Shaolin 72 arts type books. I just cant find it right now.
hskwarrior,
Pardon my ignorance but why exactly has that book caused CLF headaches? Now I'm curious! :)
Hello everybody,
I have been trying to hunt down where these pictures originated from. It is possible they were in a more 'recent' English kung fu book but I believe their original origin was...
I thought "Been Choy" was the spinning backfist?
Im going to resurrect my own thread!
Another question regarding "elbow stroke". Is that term somewhat exclusive to Tai Chi or other 'internal' arts or is the term "elbow stroke" used throughout...
Charp Choi,
Thank you for the reply and the information!
I am interested in learning more about Southern Mantis books from the 1930s-1960s, although it seems there were very few published during that time period!
