Thanks all for all the suggestions above.
I spent half a day going from Chemist to Chemist asking for 2 litres of (transparent) Ethanol. Strangely enough, none were prepared to sell such a large...

Hi Simui,
Nice post. There are not enough female martial artists around. Especially since females almost always have the most to gain in training in a MA.
Anyhow my Sifu is female and has...
Anyone else read this book?
Just got a copy and am half way through it.
Discusses in some depth the Principles of martial arts power that are common across all systems.

Sifu's David & Mike,
Thoroughly enjoyed watching this.
More of this kind of stuff is what is needed to broaden the understanding of these great traditions.
I particularly enjoyed the...
Having been to China twice I found this a very entertaining read. If you travel to the small towns and villages in-land you can still get the same kinda experiences. My wife is from a 'small' town...
In our school we have five Hung Gar Sets.
Yeah Hung Gar for 5 years and yes it's strengthened my forearms (tendons, ligaments, muscle fiber etc) noticeably.
Probably Hung Ga for its work on the forearms and wrists. But then i saw some Wing Chun in Futsan which looked as hard as nails with plenty of dynamic tension going on in their basic forms.
What...
Hmm....some more good news....

Nice point!
But we do need those 'mansion' builders so they can pass on their knowledge to those who only want to build huts right.
Agree.....and as I said, after five years, the basics should be to a good standard. But then why would you want to start learning a new art (chasing a new rabbit) if you've only got good basics in a...
From my experience I recon it takes a lot longer than 5 years or a black belt to be 'good' in a system. But then it depends on hour many hours of quality training you have done in that 5 years with a...
Yeah, the 12 section Tam Tui routine is the first form taught in the Chin Woo school and is often taught (to beginners) in two groups of 6 movements. Jie Tan Tui (2 person spring kicking) is another...
Admire their athleticism but not my thing.
Looks like TKD on Steroids:D So I guess I'd have to agree with you that they are taking that to a whole new level which for them is all good.
