if you want to think of it as a form of meditation in motion.
Although sorry to say, when I think of "hip-hop", I think more of a re-hashing of a mating ritual/dance than a medative excersise,...
Although they don't necessarily have training methods known as "forms" specifically, many of these systems have drilling sets to convey the basic concepts of a technique before they expect you to...
forms are simply an example of how to link the moves of a style together, and a way to practice all the moves of a set easily and continuously. Forms are the skeleton of your style, with application...
yeah, because people like to spend morte time nit-picking than training here ;) Make sure your posts have the proper links, referances, and foot-notes, and are free from any opinion that might need...
MK theory 101: is all else fails, resort to personal attacks. Don't forget to slanderise their system while you're at it. (not saying I'm any better, mind you)
hehehe. it's been fun..off to work....
1st answer: nope. if I want to kill a deer, I use a gun or a bow. if I want entertainment, I could choose to watch boxing or wrestling.
Wrestling puts you on the ground, entangled with one...
EXACTLY! :D
it's interesting to see that some people here don't bother reading or understanding posts before they reply. Makes you wonder if they really listen to their instructor, or if they are too busy...
aye....as long as you don't go down there with them ;) Personally I use hit-and-fade tactics against them...I hate grappling }:P
How ignorant of you. I say ignorant because you obviously have no idea that I spar multiple opponants DAILY. You also have no idea how often I win or lose fights, much less how I do in one on one...
Spar. Spar. Spar. Spar some more.
I say this because it sounds like you need to work on application. There's a lot of BJJ fighters in this town, and they all brag that "BJJ fighters are the best...
well, to clarify, I wasn't speaking specifically of Combined 24. I practice it, and use it to great sucess in application.
That's it right there. I don't practice Kung-Fu to look pretty and impress judges. Wushu is cool and all, but I prefer something a bit more practical.
Weather or not SD's origins/lineage can be...
Ditto, here in Colorado.
funny when someone tosses a match into an oil spill.
Other than that, I'm not going to bother to comment on an obvious attempt to cause trouble.
it's best to practice in the morning, so I hear. Our school pretty much leaves it up to us to practice it on our own time, with bi-yearly classes to make sure everyone knows the postures.
It was...
Kinda silly for a student scoping out schools to sign up under someone who's been training for less than 10 years. But of course you have kids and what-not who don't bother researching their school....
'specially when they're flipping out hard :D
NICE!
Actually, I'm in Colorado Springs. But it's a general dislike for Texans here. It's not child molestation I make jokes about, it's texans.
that's texas for ya ;) They seperate their men from their boys with a crowbar, so I hear.
well, yeah, of course you have the usual assortment of "wtf??" schools. That was a list I found doing a google search for "Colorado Springs Martial Arts".....may want to try "Colorado Springs Kung...
we have TWO Wah Lum schools in town (that I know of), a good Wing Chun school ( http://www.wtcolorado.com/ ) , Black Lotus, as mentioned above....
...you could sort through this LIST of 94 martial...
?!!?!!? What part of Colorado are YOU in? We have more kung-fu schools in the Springs than you could shake a stick at. And there are some pretty good ones.
Rumor has it he's working on a movie....maybe that will clear some things up? ;)
