Gyatees

This is all I listen to lately. It's a group of Japanese Monks along with some regular musicians. It's sort of free jazz with some indigenous folk and just lunacy mixed in. They are called sei-sou - monks who are mentally impaired. They improvise partially because they can't remember what they played before. In the liner notes it talks about how they formed and I like how it says something like "We feel they have something to say to us that is very important" or something.
