I have thought about it- a lot. Challenge fighting, cage fights, or macho displays of superiority over some drunk jerk is one thing. Real street fighting is nasty sheot to be avoided whenever possible. A real fight is life-threatening, anything goes, and sometimes someone dies. You can find yourself facing the prospect of spending time incarcerated. That’s just the start. There are lawsuits and a bankload of money spent on attorneys. Then there’s the impact it has on your job from all the negative publicity. Not to mention the time you have to spend away from work while you are meeting with attorneys and spending time in court. It can goe on for years. Not something I recommend for anyone..

    hmmmmmmmmmmmm nervous aren't you

waasa matter man, I'm just troll, right? Someone who could never be a threat to you, right? What are you worried about? As far as your concerned I'll never darken your door, if I could ever find it that is.

mojo or should I say nojo,

No profile = no face, no name, nobody

Bottom line, if you're willing to put up opinions about MA you should at least state what you do and for how long. Back up your words with something more than "take my word for it".

Hey guys, don't feel bad, someone took my screen name and turned it into a porno dot com.

yeesh, I almost put a disclaimer in my home page stating I had nothing to do with that site... but then I thought I would be wasting as much time as the guy who thought I would buy the domain name.

hahahahaha, some people are just plain....well, plain.

    Just for you. I've had....
4 years of high school wrestling.
5 years if Hsing-I Chuan, Shen Lung Tang Shou Tao school.

FYI, I tried to include it in the profile but I keep screwing it up for some reason :(

Wow, now HERE is a surprising topic! :D

Since this is a Knifefighter thread, I figured I would add this point to our debate from a few days ago, when you said that breaking someones neck is almost impossible.

I used to wrestle a lot in High School and I sprained my neck several times. The neck does not have a great range of motion, and is not particularly resistant.

I am surprised you find this almost impossible.

Also, you implied that you ALSO trained with SPECOPS people. I did not train with them perse but have had many conversations with Marines and SEALS. I bunked with Marines for six weeks.

I dont really care who you are, but besides from being a specialist on all the stuff in your profile as well as a host of other things, you ALSO train with SPECOPS!?!?! Who are you, Superman?

I only added that last dig because AMAZINGLY enough you said I had been watching too many movies. I think it is the other way around.

I would be happy to share any of my military experiences with you and when I get my scanner, I would be happy to even POST THEM HERE, along with what I actually look like.

    Thats all.

    Arioch:

I trained for a number of years at two of the most well known MA schools in the country, Dan Inosanto’s and the Gracies’ You would not believe the number of different kinds of people I met and trained with at these two academies over the years.

Both of these schools have offered training to various military and law enforcement groups and had many military/special ops guys coming through there to train. During my tenure at these academies, I had quite a few opportunities to train and talk with them. They are tough bastids, but the guys I trained with were the first to admit that breaking necks for real was probably pretty hard to do unless your opponent was asleep or unconscious. As a matter of fact, their preferred method of empty-handed kill was to choke the enemy out and then crush his trachea once he was unconscious.

As far as being "almost impossible" to break someone’s neck, nice try Arioch. I never said that. These are the phrases I used- "… they are **** hard to make happen on purpose"; "… it's much, much harder than eye gouging"; "I've seen quite a few people try, but so far haven't seen anyone able to do it"; "…it is one of those techs that works better in theory than in reality."

I also come from a wrestling background. As a wrestler, I am sure you are familiar with the Salto, suplex, suplee and other high amplitude throws that land you on your neck. I have seen a number of people slammed on their heads and necks from these types of throws and only saw one neck that was broken. A sprained neck is a lot different from actually fracturing the vertebrae, which is also different than fracturing the vertebrae in a manner that causes death to occur.

Can a neck be broken? Of course. Is it something you can just go in and do with some fancy technique? I doubt it. Especially against a trained, conditioned fighter.

Nice try... you like that, eh? :D

Well, that answer was good enough for me. Since I dont know anything about the systems you mentioned, I will take your word for it.

    I realize you can not do a fancy move and snap someones neck. To paraphrase my sister(Who is a martial artist... or rather WAS.);

"It depends on who the attacker is and who the defender is. It also depends upon the situation and the time this technique is applied."

I would NEVER try to break someones neck in a life or death situation. However, if it was a life or death situation and the guy was pummelled and I just happened to have him in the position to do this, then I think it is feasible.

I have seen my Sifu take down people by locking thier knee, while sparring. I know this sounds absurd, but I have seen it and if you remember most of what I post, I do not subscribe to any type of stunts or bull****.

I think what we are quibbling about is a difference of perspective. I am NOT saying you can go up to someone and just grab his head from the front and "SNAP!". Also, you did not say that it was "impossible" that was just the feeling I got from your post.

I think we are on the same page on this one. Sometimes I just love to argue. :D

If you dont mind me asking, what type of business do you own? I dont need the name, I am just curious about the general nature of the business. I own an Art Gallery myself(It is NOWHERE near as snobby as it sounds. :)).

My debating quota with you is satisfied now, and your post was very good. I appreciate you taking the time to let me know a more in-depth view to your previous posts.

No, I am not that skilled in CMA's. Are you joking? If not, could you explain this to me?

Truth be told I haven't actually read a knifighter post fully. Because I think he's a blowhard and I know fighters, how they think, what constant hard work and sore muscles can do to humble you. He doesn't fit the bill.

He's not smart and not centered. I beleive that abel would be interesting to fight because he's funny and that shows mental sponteneity, something essential for a fighter, even if you only have 10 techniques like knifefighter.

Giddiness is common among kung fu fighters. Its a combo of meditation/taoism and getting punch drunk and exhausted. That combined with your quick rections makes for a funny delerium super happy fun time. Knifefighter in my book is a combo of a guy who plays lots of D&D and jacks off to middle age women in porno. And the kinda fat white guy that tells people that his home-made leather jacket is made out of a lion that he killed while on safari.

Knifefighter has invited those who question his credentals and ability to attend the gathering and fight him to see for themselves, yet no one has taken him up on it (ahem SifuBabel). So if you realy want to know then go, and take a camera so we can see some REAL kung fu in action! And try to use that neck break to see if it works on someone who isn't cooperating LOL.

    Jiu Jitsu Jedi is Knifighter

You cant fool us with this one. Your alter ego is such a faceless moron and why do you only show up when people are hashing knifefighter? I mean come on people wake up! I challenge you to look back at this JiuJitsu Jedi's posts and when does he ever post anything like " I have a question about ground work?" Or "Could you kung fu guys fill me in on something?" No he only shows up when his "buddy" knifefighter is on the rocks. Thats because he is knifefighter. Oh and Im not just assuming here either. In fact jiu jistsu jedi and jjj have been suspect alter egos of his for a long time among those of us who know knifefighter is a complete kornholer. So knife take all your surplus I.d.'s and sove em up your a$$. Face it your credibility is gone and this f###$#$$ up institution that youve built up around your makebilieve "knifefighter" concept is as bogus as you are. Knife's Achilles heel is the fact that "Knifighter" means something to HIM. And thats why he spends so much time here in the fairytale land of the KFO forum where we can all be "masters" regardless of our own worthless, insignificant place in the real world.
