    Question Getting down, getting up.

I've read some threads around grappling and the need to learn some ground fighting skills, which is fine, most people recommend getting off the floor, especially if the surface is unsuitable. But getting off the floor is not what it sounds, most of the time you can have your ass kicked back to the ground, farily easily.

So, with this in mind, what do people recommend? Personally, not going to the ground, or learning to kick from a ground position.

If anyone has any military experience I'd be intereseted to hear what you have been taught, as going to the ground usually means unarmed in military combat.

I posted a similar question on the main forum a while back. Do a search , there were some good answers.

    My plan -

    1. try to stay on feet
    2. know what to do on the ground
    3. (if fight goes to ground) get up asafp
    4. run
