    Weapons in Melbourne

Does anyone know of any schools in Mlbourne that teach kung fu weapons?

I am currently a wing chung student, however my school does not teach any weapons, and I am interested in learning this aspect.

Which weapons where you looking at learning?

I am not sure if any school will just teach weapons, are you looking to just train in particular weapons? or you are looking to change schools entirely?

One thing to note with Wing Chun is that through all the butterfly sword, short stick, knife, double stick, butterfly rod work that I have done / played with - it is all the same as your open hand work!

The only real changes tend to be distance and targets.

So there is nothing to stop you from picking up some weapons and applying the principles that you have learnt to them.
(That is what I have done with twin stick work, after looking at what I was taught with Butterfly Swords, and now it is really starting to come toghether)

But weapons are good fun! I enjoy them immensly.

If you don't mind me asking - what school do train at?

I have heard of some WuShu schools around that will do short courses on particular weapon forms - but I don't know if that is what you are looking for.

Let us know if you find something interesting.
