the hting is i can get my mac to work at home, so it seems to be somehting to do with the uni... when i called the uni IT support, they didnt have a clue as u would expectso thats why i just used the pc.

well that would be two seperate profiles right? an entree for your home isp and an entree for your uni connection. maybe not ... i dunno macs ... only seen a lil bit of them from having to stumble my way through setting people up on them.
but if you do have seperate profiles for each connection then one being configured right wouldn't mean that the other is.

hi GDA... yup 2 different profiles following the exact same setup procedure. im downloading some important stuff right now so cant change it to tell u what the error is... someitmes it doesnt even dial the server properly for some reason though
im running mac os 9.2 and on the pc windows 2000 pro

ok this is basic and might sound stupid, but do yu have to dial a 9 to get out? i can't recal how many customers i setup that called back immediately, unable to connect, cause i didnt know they were at school or simply forgot to put the 9,, in the dial up number.
