Question How are those steel Muay Thai cups?

I just bought a regular plastic cup for the NHB club at my school. I haven't worn a cup since I played hockey. Ah the good old days.

Has anyone used one of those steel ones? How did you like it? Was it pretty much the same as a plastic one, except steel?

My sifu said he used to use a steel one. He said they were pretty uncomfortable. I don't know what they are like now though.

They're COLD! Good thing you'll be wearing a cup, so no one will laugh!

    Thumbs up

Can't go wrong with the steel cup. Provides the best protection imaginable. Some people complain about the discomfortable way in which you tie on the traditional thai steel cup, but I got used to it. Even if you don't get used to it, there are ways around that. I've seen some people put the steel cup itself into a normal strap rather than tie it on.

I never had a problem training NHB with my regular plastic cup.

If I want to wear a cup I just wear two underwear and stick the cup in-between them...hope that doesn't sound too weird

Is the steel cup bigger or something? I've been pretty happy with my regular plastic cup. I took a puck in the crotch last season and it did pretty well.
    I am nothing.
