What is shaolin Jingang Dao Dui-ramming fist to the ground exercise

    Hello!

Iam wondering if someone can explain me what this exercise is. Jingang Dao Dui. I have seen this exercise in many shaolin Chinese mainland movies like Shaolin temple with Jet Li, American Shaolin and others.

Is this a basic Shaolin exercise routine? I have hear that its practised by the gate protectors. You fight in front of you to protect a temple gate. According to which shaolin system you practise, there are many different versions of this exercise.

What do you learn from this exercise? Whats its applications?
    Whats its history?
Does someone has video links with different versions?

1.To press forward with the palm and kick with the other leg
2.To hit our fist into our other palm with a foot stomp
3.To raise a knee with a straight fist
4.To strike a straight fist into a horse stance
5.To strike a straight fist with a side kneeling stance

That sequence reminds me of the beginning of Da Tongbei Quan.
