I looked at the article scans but was unable to read them on screen. Nor did they come out legibly on my (crap) home printer. Can I expect better at work tomorrow? What I mean is, have you checked that the scans (web 'optimised') are legible?

    Easy Fix

Save the jpg. open it with the windows picture viewer and increase the picture size within the viewer.

    correction on the history

Sorry GUYS, I made a typo in the ykm history!

My grandmsater Ha Hon Hung learnt yau kung mun before learning the bak mei system from Cheung Lai Chun. I'll get it corrected later.

sure mate, ill get something up for you on the different guards etc. YKM will leave a door/gate open and usually suck the opponent in and set up counters. shape shifting confusing the opponent!

happy new year to you as well, ive been really busy with this years festivals YKM here is booked out for a month of shows and demo's etc.

    take it easy

    thank you thank you

    look forward to it!!

sounds like a busy but good time.. ykm are very famous for their dancing i belive..

Yes the use of guarding posure to "suck in" the opponet or force/make them do something YOU want, sometimes without them knowing that you are "making them" / leaving them no option is very interesting and a form of "mind control" if you will :P just as u must destroy the soul/spirit of the attacker besides pshycial so u must control the mind etc certain guards and "luring" postures will cause the attacker to attack in certain ways thus elminating what u have to look out for.. similar to when u dictate the bridge.. when i attack to seek bridge - Contact, Control and Destroy...

    anyways i babble on..

I think the hok se tong long people had an article on centreline and begger hand guards effecting the opponet in blitz last year and their website... i think

is it interesting enuff for a new thread on pre fghting postures, guards, set ups, pre emptives.. etc etc?

ok better stop my babbling mood and go train!

    Take care

A happy and prosperious year for u FT and all~

Yeah. I wrote that article. But the second face-up is not beggar hands. It is the standard mantis face up. Beggar hands has the palms facing upwards whereas the Mantis face-up has the palms facing the centreline.

The article you mentioned is on our website (see my sig - go to library-articles).

    Cheers.

    Thumbs up Bear Bear

    Exactly my friend!

The time they move its too late as you have countered and or if they do try to change their course you have it countered as you have set up what you wanted. Does this make sense?lol

    Taoboy,

Got your PM maybe thats all u need to do?

Not a correction. Just clearing it up so there was no confusion.
Again - thanks for your kind words.

I will be writing more for Blitz later in the year.
More focus on training rather than specific to kung fu.

    Cheers.
