    New Book - Oct. 15

Sorry - I posted this as a poll before

Below is a review of the BJJ Student Handbook from OnTheMat.com

The Handbook will only be sold until this Monday, October 15. After
that time, it will be permanently dicontinued and replaced by our new
book, The Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Complete. The Brazilian Jiu-jitsu
Complete contains the same qualities and high standards as the
Handbook, but more than doubles it in size, and triples the amount
of techniques. The photos are of much higher quality and interviews
with Gracie family members and Top BJJ Black Belts have been added
to support the author's philosophy on BJJ. Another unique feature
contained in the BJJ Complete is that it is the ONLY book on the
market that completely covers all three aspects of BJJ: Sport with a Gi,
Submission Grappling (sport without the gi), and Vale Tudo (no rules).
The book also links the techniques together for the reader and shows how each move works with the other to set them up on a more advanced opponent. A
discount will be given for a 2 week period to all those who have
purchased the Student Handbook, starting October 15 and ending
October 31. The BJJ Complete will be by far the largest and most
complete book of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu on the market - Available
    Exclusively at JIU-JITSU.NET!

    Review from OnTheMat.com

Coming across like a dose of East Coast sanity, Gene Simco's
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu The Student Handbook combines the low tech look
of an auto parts manual, with the Internet, and of course, his own
experience, to create a personal portrait, work of art, and
interactive, question and answer Jiu-Jitsu manual all in one.

Where ever possible, a do-it-yourself approach was used in making
this book. The result is both individualistic and satisfying. I
especially like the knee on stomach diagram with captions rotating
around, like the exploded view of a car engine. The photographs are
clear without any "mystery limbs." His use of insets and circle
highlights are something some videos could use. Equally clear in the
pictures is Gene Simco, before and after 30 pounds of muscle.

The idea behind the book is to chose one move at a time, try it, and
if you get stuck, send your question via e-mail to Gene Simco's
address. Not only is proper question forming an important skill for
beginners to learn, but your questions, and the answers to them,
will serve as the basis for highly detailed works available at his
    website.

Without being preachy, or self-conscious Gene Simco manages to convey
some of the intangibles of becoming a Blue Belt. The entire project
is so well considered, so open ended, like Jiu-Jitsu, or life itself,
and so obviously a labor of love that it is the martial arts
experience made manifest: a man using his vitality to realize a
vision with pride as a guide. Gene Simco has not only written the
curriculum vitae for a blue belt , but has also recorded the
transformation of a Blue Belt into Purple.

He is, after all, a real Martial Artist.

Jasbourne. You consider that stirring up? Just because your from the medieval ages dosn't mean that pictures of women are bad. Your connotations to evil and the human body are you own agenda.

The pictures are good. I think they should have a girl of the week that way there will be more pictures more often. Brazilian jiujitsu is superior!!!!! Brazilian jiujitsu girls could probably take out 10 year veterans of kung fu. Kung fu sucks.
