Which Southern style do you know have ever beaten Northern style?

Well I must say it makes a change from the SPM guys spouting off about how much more practical shorthand is and how they could defeat any northern stylist. I have the advantage of training in northern, southern, long and short, so I can sit totally on the fence.
I don't know lion dance, yet I know many northern schools that teach it. The extras that go with kung fu (Lion dance, dragon dance, unicorn dance, flag dancing) are irrespective of whether the style is northern or southern. Indeed, there are even specific northern lions (they have long golden hair).
Northern and southern are both effective if you are trained in them properly.
Anyway, as a point of information, the Manchus tended to study Hop Gar, not mantis.

His mantis isn't bad, but his Tan Tui is terrible! O.K., as a Zhaquan practitioner I'm likely to be harsher than most, but the stances are just awful!
Still, he likes war craft, so he can't be that bad (warcraft 2 is one of my favourite games).

Look for goktimus/ego maximus/bestallstyle/calmguru/5 star praying mantis/mercilessfighter...he is the best person
to talk to. he is an expert in all styles especially northern.

As Sifu would say...there is no permanence and there should not be any discrimination.
The point is therefore, who cares.
The more Shaolin there are, the better. Be civilized and chivalrous in your behaviour. As martial artists, we are supposed to not forget that we learn this art to help others and ourselves in times of need...not be a thug!!!

You may want to bulk up a bit, as I'm 22, 6'2" and 210lbs, whereas you are almost certainly a skinny little 16 year old with bad skin.
