Thread: Kim Kai Fook

  1. #16
Well, thanks for bringing this back to life - it got me to do a little more research.

Actually, I don't think this is Kim Kai Fook, although it looks like him...

"Lian gong Mi Jue" by Jin Yi Ming, from the same company has some photos of him - see the picture of him on the chair earlier in this thread.

Contrary to what I had thought, Jin Yi Ming (Chin I Ming) is not Kim Kai Fook, although he wrote quite a number of books, including the one above in which Kim Kai Fook appears, and the one the photo which started this thread came from.

    In fact...
金佳福 Kim Kai Fook (Jin Jia Fu)
    金一明 Jin Yi Ming
Whether there was any family relationship, I don't know, but it is certainly possible. Now for the interesting part. Thanks to the resurrection of this thread, I have done a little more research, as I said above, and here is the original book (1935) in pdf format. Follow the link and press the button with the green arrow.

It is in Chinese, of course, but there are pictures - this must have been the same book that Bruce Lee had.

    Have fun,

    Greetings,

    Graculus,

I took a look at that book (thank you, by the way). The form is pretty aggressive, more thorn than flower; yet, very short.

    I'm glad you liked it.

qwert2020: I don't know for sure, but I don't think Jin Jia Fu (Kim Kai Fook) was featured in any more books, except for various versions of this one (featuring line drawings instead of photographs). Jin Yi Ming, however, wrote quite a lot. As far as I know, this form is not on youtube.

Mickey: I agree with you. Interesting and effective looking.
