    Online list of martial idioms?

Please share links to sites with lists of martial sayings, such as

"First, bravery; Second, strength; Third, technique"

Or, if you have no links, just list a few of your favorites.

That's really a MA idiom? I would have thought technique would come second, then strength. You telling me I have been doing it wrong for 16 years?

Behold, I see my father and mother.
I see all my dead relatives seated.
I see my master seated in Paradise and Paradise is beautiful and green; with him are men and boy servants.
He calls me. Take me to him.

    Thumbs up

I think that saying relates to CMA.

    Something along the lines of:

"It is hard to show brotherly love for the one who is trying to stab you with a knife". -Ed Parker-

Are we going to include those "martial arts poems" ? Just in case we are not.........

"100 days for saber, 1000 days for spear, 10000 for sword"

CLF idiom " With, Chuen, Pau, Qau, Sao, Charp, Hung Gar is rubbish. White crane is just a ducky, Piqua is only to scrub my back" ( I don't study CLF, but I really love this one )

"do a form 1000 times, and you body becomes natural to it"

"train form and not power, at and old age you will get nothing"

"there is no such thing as an unbreakable move, only speed is unbreakable"

"saber goes black, sword goes ?green?"

"saber goes for power, sword goes for light and subtle"

"When a sword is 3 feet long, use just 3 inches"

"Spears thrusts in one line, staff sweeps on one plain"

    "Win by many"

"A day as a master means a lifeline as a father"

"hand sticks hand, nowhere to go"

"Without health, we cannot strengthen the body. Without health, we cannot strengthern the people"

"Face it. People are fukked. Why would you want a career helping anyone? Go find a mountain and farm sheep for a living." - Serpent on Personal Training

"Turning the other cheek only gets you slapped twice."
    K. Mark Hoover

Lightbulb The origin of "turn the other cheek"

Off Topic, but you might find it interesting...

In the olden days, you would demean someone by slapping them with the "dirty hand". Turning the other cheek, you force the aggressor to either withdraw, or elevate your status with a "more respectful" slap.

This is a form of "indomitable spirit" practice. The popular interpretation of the phrase is _backwards_.
