    Taiwan Wushu Demonstration

    Hello,

I'm pleased to inform about the 1st Martial Arts Demonstration that took place in front of Matsu Temple, in Dajia, Taiwan.
I'm sorry I couldn't announce it earlier, but I was also notified within 1 day.

    The styles represented were:
    Okinawan Gojuryu karate
    Okinawan Kobudo & Lion Dance
    Chen, Xiao-wang's Chen-shi Taijiquan
    Wing-chun
Paihequan (combination of Feihe, Zhonghe, Suhe)
    Paihemen Shihequan
    Shotokan karate
    Liu, Yin-Chiao's Bajiquan & Piguazhang
Chen, Pan-Ling's Taijiquan, Baguazhang & Xingyiquan
    Taiji applications
    Taiwanese Kuntao / Hequan

There will be another demo, however mainly Taiwanese Kuntao (I was told) on Sunday, the 30th, 9am-1pm, same place.
It's good to see martial arts being promoted in Taiwan.

I saw the Goju on TV while I was at a restaurant.
I thought it was being filmed in Japan.

    Where in Taiwan is Dajia?

I've never heard of a town named "dajia" either. But there are lots of little places. Was this the demo with the kids doing kuandao? All this stuff seems to be down south!

The kids were in Kaohsiung. The TV came and filmed just the beginning of our demo.

Dajia (or Ta-chia) is in central Taiwan in Taichung County, about 1 hour by bus from Taichung. This place is famous for the Matsu Temple. Every year they carry Matsu arund Taiwan (in April), and it all starts from Dajia. Just ask some local friends in Taiwan, they should know for sure. Millions of Taiwanese people go to visit Matsu temple very year around April.
