Just too proud to deny it... Katrina Leung, one of the instructors from the Shou-Yu Liang Wushu Taiji Qigong Institute, was featured on episode five of Black Sash as the character named Jade.

She did a great Di Tan/Longfist pseudo form - and we are proud!

I think wong represents a kungfu teacher in the series who happens to also teach Pa Kua, (not uncommon).

So, I don't think having Kungfu fundamentals taught in a class (fictitious or real) that is Pa Kua or Tai Chi will be a detriment. (unless of course you don't have correct fundamentals and then you just look silly trying to teach them so it's easier to be cool with some weird esoteric art that no one can question your basics on )

    cheers

Your intelligence is surpassed only by your ignorance.

You are more likely to fall down the stairs and break your neck if you live in a house with stairs. You are more likely to be in a car accident if you drive to work. You are more likely to be kicked in the nuts or punched in the nose if you practicing the martial arts. - Judge Pen

My guess is he's supoded to be teaching a number of arts, thats why his school is called a "Martial arts" school, and not a Bagua school. It's clear his Teacher and he are Bagua specialists, but we can clearly see Long Fist as well.

If this was a "Real" school, my guess is he teaches Long Fist to start, and Bagua to his "Black Sash's" (pun intended)
Those that are the most sucessful are also the biggest failures. The difference between them and the rest of the failures is they keep getting up over and over again, until they finally succeed.

I've seen plenty of "for real" gyms, dojos and kwoons that are not 100% safe too.

Just think of all the 10 year olds running around in a school where weapons are loose on the rack!

just think of all the 10 year kids out there being encouraged to punch each other in the head.

I'd take my chances with weights on a riser
    hahahahahaha. (sarcasm hopefully noted)

russell wong and the script is weak. the show wont last.

....Katrina Leung- she's got skills. In more ways than one.

What kills the show are the teenagers inability to actually do gung fu. Its painful to watch. And the choreography sucks. Russell has done mucho better in MA type flicks.

But...it is nice to see a MA flick on the idiot box..ever since Sammo refused to work since the studio struck the free fried chicken snacks clause inbetween takes out of his contract.

Oh..and anythang beats Kung Fu - The Next Generation. Ugh.

I haven't seen the show yet, no access to WB here.

Of course the choreography will be worse than for a full-length movie.

Some fight scenes I have seen in movies took weeks to choreograph and train.
Now in a TV-Series where they produce 1 episode per week(methinks) they neither have the time nor the budget for it.

Plus, Movie actors tend to spend a few months getting into shape and training MA for their part.
Actors like Jackie Chan, Jet Li, etc work with their own team day in and day out.

    Cheers.

I don't know, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" has been on forever, look how lame that show is.
