    OT: What to wear

I've got to attend a funeral tomorrow morning for a friend/co-worker who passed away on Monday. Since it's been a while since I've been to a funeral, and I don't have a suit, what is appropriate for such event?

Slacks, long sleeve dress shirt and a tie would be appropriate.

Slacks should be gray or black. Shirt can be pretty much any color (white, blue, red, black). Pretty much office dress code.

Just remember that the tie should compliment, not clash and your socks should match your shoes.

    Black or grey slacks.....
    WD got it
    Go with black belt
    black shoes
no white socks: either grey or black
    darker colored dress shirt
black, dark grey, deep red, etc.
    tie...nice, but not too flashy...

    so yeah, what WD said..

    sorry to hear, my condolances

it doesn't really matter dude ... just don't show up in jeans and a tshirt and you'll be better dressed than a good 25% of the people there. i have been to well over 2 dozen funerals and sadly this is true. just wear pants, a shirt, and a tie if you got one. black or gray is best but like i said you're gonna see people there in tank tops and shorts.

just try to look as clean and tidy as possible, whilst also looking as unexciting as possible. so basically office-wear but darker. it sounds kinda weird but last time i bought a suit, i made sure it was black in case i had to go to a funeral.
