Well, what about you? Keep in mind this story I heard about how he got discovered.

Danny is practicing boxing between takes in his role as an extra:

Some honcho on the production: "Do you box?"

Danny: "Yeah, I got pretty good in prison."

Some honcho: "Can you coach the star for his boxing scene?"

Danny (making $50 a day as extra): "Is there a raise in it?"

SH: "Yeah, we'll give you $350 a day."

D: "How bad do you want this kid beat up?"

SH: "He might hit back, you know."

D "For $350 a day, give him a bat. I used to get beat up for free."

You may remember him from his roles in "Heat" "Desperado" "Runaway Train" (where the above anecdote comes from), "Mi Vida Loca" "From Dusk Til Dawn" "Replacement Killers" etc. etc. He's a tall, built mexican dude with a scarred face, long hair, and a fu manchu mustache and he looks like he spent a long time in the can, 'cuz he did.

I wouldn't take a swing at him for $2,000. What good is money when your dead?

Danny Trejo goes down in the Big Book of Cool Villains for his role in Desperado. That man rules.
When you assume, you make an ass out of... pretty much just you, really.
