Thread: Mantis Glossary of Terminology

  1. #16
I saw this thread and decided to add some of the details I know. Below are some of the concepts for 7*PM. The romanizations for everything are Yale Cantonese as I find it the easiest to maintain correct pronunciation. Cantonese also stays true to the 7*'s Hong Kong lineage.

IMPORTANT: Do not read too much into the English translations. I wrote them in a manner that would be easiest for me to remember what they are, but they are not fully encompassing of the principle they describe. I truly feel that in order to completely describe the principle you'd need to write pages of text!

It has been some time and no one added the translations... I needed the translations and got them at the previously mentioned page www.authentickungfu.com. No work from my side except for Pinyin for those who can't read characters and copying the stuff together. I was unable to read the cantonese terms but it was at least easy to map them to the correct characters.

I'm still in search for the characters to the rest of the information provided on authentickungfu.com. Some of the Cantonese (it is Cantonese, isn't it?) is so hard to understand that I can't think of a Mandarin character that could sound alike. And the Cantonese romanization also doesn't seem to be standardized. If I copy the stuff from there to an online Cantonese dictionary, it does not necessarily spit out a translation...

Did anyone translate the stuff there to characters and could provide the information?
