i was looking on line at martial art equipment and i came across this site where they sold sashes but they were called chorded sashes and had this string attached, i was wondering if anyone knew the difference between the conventional sash that has no string to this one and why they differ...is one better then the other?

I think a chorded sash sounds as though it would be easier to tie.

The regular type sash can act like a weight belt that supports your kidneys for pressure or strain moves. The chord of the chord sash would not provide this function.~
