    WC Knives

    Hi all.

    Is is right that WC developed out of the techniques of the butterfly knives or was is vic versa.

    Unlike some Filipino arts wing chun training teaches to first learn control over hands, stance and footwork before seriously working with the knives.

    I heard WC originally had no weapons (pole and knives added later).

    If the question is whether or not WCK hands (i.e. the boxing system itself) developed from knife fighting method, it is possible that regardless of which chronologically appeared on the red junks first, the two influenced each other, iteratively. (the hands develop the core of the knives, the knives give polish to the hands, etc. etc.)
