    Stupid American Titles

    So I subscribe to NetFlix...
Anyhow, I just got really frustrated when I rented Jet Li's The Legend of the Red Dragon. I was psyched, as I thought I had never seen the movie, but it was just an American version of The New Legend of Shaolin. I put it in, started watching and was all... Damit, I've seen this, I own it, both on DVD and VHS...

Kinda like how Enter the 36th Chamber is called Shaolin MasterKiller; which begs the question, is he 'a master at killing,' or a 'killer of masters'?

    bah

in China The Professional is known as:

"This Killer is Not Too Cool"

... and "As Good As It Gets" with Jack Nicholson is known as:

    "Mr Cat Sh1t"

I hear its the Taiwanese that decide most of the titles lol

Danish translations are mostly stupid also. luckily they stopped doing it that much.

Like BL's "the Big Boss" was called "Karate-Fists of Steel"

alternate titles I can accept, but how about some good titles.

    The Legend (1 & 2) - yeah that's eloquent
The Enforcer - original title was better, "My Father is a Hero"
The Defender - not bad, sounds better than "The Bodyguard from Beijing"

what's next? Legend of Hard Boiled?

I kinda like the literal translations complete with broken english - a true classic being "Born to Defence."
