I carry a kubotan style fist stick.

IMO they are great carry tools. They are also verisons called yawara, linck stick, koppo (loops to hold on the fingers) but they are basically just fist loads. I would also put saps and blackjacks into that mix but you should check to see if they are legal in your state. I think saps are very wicked functional.

I will see if I can dig something up for you. The japenese fist stick idea was based on using a sheated tanto I believe. Basically you just hit, poke and smash with it. You can also use them to dig and pinch into pressure points. Any martial art will apply.

It's a good idea to run over some basic striking templates in your head of course. Mandible, branchial plexus, vegas nerve, nose, collar bone, temple, solar plexus, rib cage, play around. Anything you hit will hurt.

    Cheers
    Regards

Yeah, Ive gots mine on a nifty snap off yin-yang key chain for easy access and use.
I bought it when my shoulder was f*cked, just kinda as an equaliser. From what I understand theres some cool locking techniques with it, but I dont know what they are.

The cool looking tech's you are thinking about I would bet are pressure point digging stuff. You already know the most important tech's dude. Hitting and where to hit.

Its right in any art you do striking with. It's not that complicated. You have the info. Just strip it down.

Im talking more on the lines of securing the wrist and manipulating fingers with it.
i know it works great as a fist pack and to mash into pressure points.
Kinda like having an iron finger.
