    Another weird acrobatic move...

Okay, I got a lot of good pointers on my last request about the "kip ups". Here's another one. I can't quite describe it because I can't remember exactly what it looks like. But you start out on your back on the ground. Your legs come up (legs are straight sticking up, legs apart) and then they somehow twist in a scissor/windmill type motion so they end up turning your whole body so you can stand up. Anybody know what I'm talking about? What is it called so I can look it up?

Lay on your left side. Right leg goes back to the right to load it. Right leg swings straight across to about a 45 degree angle, then circles up and around, followed by the left. Come up on to your knees. Takes practice. Its one of the many crane sweeps in SD. Dunno what its called elsewhere.

Goes by a couple of names; scissor twist up, twist up, 'black dragon coils up the pillar', etc...

    Hope this helps.

SD I think you're speaking of the more basic variation that just has the practioner swing the legs across in circular fashion right left or vice versa and coming up onto the side. The version Johnv is looking for involves going up onto one shoulder and then pressing through a handstand & popping up onto the feet.

    Yes no Johnv

If you spin hard enough, it should get you back to your feet.
