Didn't realize that James had made it onto the team last minute! That is great news...

Looks like the only tough first round draw is Max's

Ok you knew it couldn't last forever:

Van Do lost a tough 3 round fight to a very tall fighter from Romania I think. It went three round with Van winning the First round and then getting out pointed for the final 2.

Jenna Castillo lost another tough fight to a very good Vietnam fighter with long head height side kicks.

Both fighters fought their hearts out and should be proud.

Susan Paschkewitz fights Singapor 1st at 7:30 pm EST.
Albert Pope is 5th vs. France.
Mike Norman is 9th vs. Egypt
Max Chen is 13th vs. I still don't remember.
James Fanshire is 21st vs. France.

    That's all for now.

    The great robbery of 2003:

The day was off to a great start after Susie Paschkewitz won the last 2 rounds decisivly after bairly dropping the first round vs. Philipiens. It has something to do with straight punches to the grill and 8 oz. gloves.

Albert Pope fought well but not spectacularly against France and some how lost the first round. He picked it up and apeared to dominate the second round and I was getting him ready for the third round when the judges called it against him. It was not close. I will post the fight when I get back.

Mike Norman had a slow start against Egypt but worked his range well enough but lost the first round, although not by much if at all. Mike dominatd the second round and scored 2 2pt take downs. It was not close but some who he lost 5-0? This point it was clear that they decided the US was done in Macau.

Max Chen fought his second best round ever followed by his best round ever vs. Mongolia. Max clearly out scored Mongolia in both rounds, by a lorge margin in the second but lost both rounds by 4-1 or 5-0.

James Fanshire lost to a tough fighter from Egypt but in that fight he was outscored so their was not the same level of controversy. Although there were a few throws that he should have gotten points for.

In another great example of clear favoritism; China vs. Russia 80 kg. The Chinese fighter is the current King of Sanda and Russia SMOKED him in the first round by 15+ points but one judge out ot the five scored it for China. Russia did not dominate but won the second round and it was scored 5-0 China. The whole building erupted in boo's and whistles. China did win the 3rd round and the fight but it was clear to all that the reigning King oif Sanda, the undefeated champion, LOST to Russia.

Susie Fights Vietnam around 7:15 EST. Elana Maxwell vs. India and Patrick Berry A.K.A. Pizza Guy vs. ROmania. These are all semi final fights.

What did coach Gao think? Did he have anything to say? Any protests being made?

Seems China is up to it's same old tricks
