These American Patriots are still with us.
Mr. Nelson
RIP
What a shame. There are not a lot of old timers like that around anymore.
Rogue do you have his old tape series. If you don't you should check it out. A lot of straight forward, viable and simple street info from a guy with a world of experiance. The neat little historical side stories you get from him are alone worth the tapes.
Cheers

RIP for a tough old warrior.

I visited his school back in the 70's, man am I getting old. He was crusty back then. Where do you get his videos? Man that'd be great. I heard that he also trained Prof Vee.Rogue do you have his old tape series. If you don't you should check it out. There are more guys now pushing systems that I still don't think are up to what the old crew WWII knew. Those guys actually having lived the kill or be killed catch phrase. It's one thing to teach things in seminars and another to have to do it for real.

Yes, the WWII guys were tough customers.
May Mr. Nelson rest in peace!
anyone got a link to his videos or anything if its online?
The average reality level of martial arts training being practiced just went down dramatically with Mr. Nelson's passing. Let's hope some of us can pick up where he left off and reclaim some of the momentum.

Here is a link where you can purchase his old "course" tapes. I have about five of them now and intend on getting the rest.

Unlike a lot of the RSD guys of today Nelson was the real friggin deal. Guys like him lived it. No internet bullshido. He learned from giants like Lt. Col. A.J. Biddle and his bunkmate was none other than the late John Styers. His other teacher was a "shanghai marine" called Sgt. Kelly who trained with giants like Fairbairn and Dermont O' Neill.

What a sad day indeed. I learned a lot of the Nelson curriculum while involved with the Gung Ho Chuan Association under Bob Kasper, a personal student of Charles Nelson. Heck, Charles came and gave a nice seminar to us GHCA folks several years back, I'm glad I got that on video. The WW2 Combatives are no joke, I'm glad I learned from some of the best out there, Bob Kasper and John Kary. I basically train in the martial arts as an "art", because I love forms, but when the sh*t hits the fan, there's nothing like "gutter fighting."
I say "gutter fighting" because it's one step lower (as in nastier) than street fighting :-)
