Torn tendon

Anyone have a non-surgical way of helping a torn tendon?
Right now I can move, I've lost flexibility and the tear is old (a few years old). It has gotten a little worse. The surgeon I talked to said, wait till it blows out then do surgery.

Any ideas?

hmm heat treatment and cross fiber massage. Not medically minded myself... but just how I receovered from ripped finger tendons.
