    inducing a pregnancy

    Hi Everyone,

If any one can help with the following questions I would be grateful

Are there any particular points for inducing pregnancy?

Are these the same points that would normally be contra-indicated?

At what point would one consider the time to use these points e.g. when labour has started or maybe a week or two before the baby is due?

Any help or comments would be appreciated.

Do you mean inducing labour? If so, what about sex? Sperm induces labour AFAIK.

yes (for inducing labor) and yes the are contraindicated during pregnancy

I would do it (at least to myself) under the following circumstances:
-if the baby is overdue by a few days to a week
-if labor has begun, but is progressing very slowly
-if the membrane/ water has already broken, but labor is not progressing
-during labor if the woman chooses

The major points for moving qi downwards: Gall Bladder 21 and Large Intestine 4.

Also Stomach 36 and Spleen 6 would be good choices.

    Hmmm

All those points mentioned by Vikingoddess are the classic points, so thats a double yes.
