I think when he wanted to work as an actor for the Shaw brothers they had to take some picture of him in costumes and stuff, i think that might be one of them.

He took pictures of himself wearing traditional clothes, to see how he would look in a Shaw Brothers movie. There are pictures of him in the same place, holding a pair of hammers, a fan, and as a blind swordsman.

I take pictures of myself in those poses too, but usually I'm naked and holding an iron rod.
