yes complex carbs are essential for every thing from a healthy to nervous sytem and brain function to building mass...

in western society it is so easy to consume waaaay more than you need and never realise your porblem..in weight loss or cutting bf...go low carb, watch your sugars and eat raw or fresh where possible....

also lipid balancing or blood-fat vigilance is crucial for an immune system running at it's best...

if doing laxatives or serious firber supplement , pls explore black coffee first thing in the morning and alternate hot/cold fluids durig the day...you will soon bo extremely intimate with parts of your body you didn't know you had....> result -: best health...the more of our body you know, the better you learn to manage it

ps..committment here is totally neccsssary...your intitia cleanse can go beyopnd discomfort into pain.... I believe that breathing techs are developed at these times forcing you to utilise your lower diagram..hence serious iron skill profieniecy.....sounds crazy but check it out for your self and breath your pain/discomfort out through your lower diaphram......good way to practice detatchment from physical pain (??up your pain threshold anyone ??? ) ...and it will hurt.....but fear not..bl walked this path before and lived to give rave reviews ......

Doesn't matter where the **** I am, I won't eat or otherwise consume bear, tiger, etc. Turtle? If I had no other choice, like on a desert island scenario or they were farmed for it. Those little guys are just too susceptible to human abuse. Plus they live so long - why should I cut their life short for my stomach and muscular development? I read the other day that some tortoise in England died after estimated 150ish yrs IIRC. Little guy was like a mascot for some lord's family and was passed down the generations. Then again, my experience in Oz is with sea turtles. Maybe freshwater turtles aren't as endangered. Donkey? Sure. They're feral here in places.

Wtf? BL agreeing she may be wrong and not responding to me with abuse? Arrgh - my world's falling apart! I'm in the bizarro universe!

Anyway, Chinese Olympic athletes do a lot of things. That doesn't mean they're right. Case in point - those "female" Chinese swimmers a few years ago (at the World's? or Olympics?).

Here in western pc land I just go to my local Coles supermarket. They sell frozen cartons of 1L of egg whites. I buy out their stock and keep it in the freezer. Pretty messy ****. Nowhere near as nice as separating an egg myself, but I hate throwing away yolks every day. The egg whites are hard to look at. Thick yellow consistency and the little white bits from an egg (umbilical cord?) gather together so sometimes a large white lump the size of a poached egg comes out of the carton with a loud plop. Thank god for the Bamix!

I guess my committment to my health is justification enough....

I prefer not to eat any meat whatsoeva but if it'sa choice between eating something I'm not familiar with and getting sick dying or worse.....having to become latent ...I'll just take the food...and I won't even make a fuss because to me that's just a little precious.....take the food , do your workout and quit complaining...

I guess westerners takealot of modern conveniences for granted..probably a big part of the reason for so many people experiencing culture shock when they come here. I think someone said in another thread that monks are no ordinary people ( even though they will beg to differ)...same goes for many chinese people and others in devloping nations.....the constitution of these folks is extraordinary...something you just don't see like that in the west......and diet isn't even half of it

    enjoy your meal

Interesting point. I for one won't compromise my morals, regardless of the circumstances (well, almost - the movie Alive comes to mind). You may have (well, do have ) different morals to me so for you eating turtle is fine. But what about tiger *****, which I understand is a highly valued ingredient in some Asian countries? Would you eat tiger ***** soup if it were offered to you? At the risk of offending my hosts, I would never, never eat that. I would use the refusal as an opportunity to try to educate my hosts to why I think it's unacceptable practice.

In the meantime I'll continue to whinge and complain.

Dude, I wouldn't eat ANY kinda pen!s soup, endangered or not! Bleah!

Lol! I thought that when I was typing it. But it's hard to think of a more majestic animal in so much trouble from humans that is valued so highly as a "TCM substance". IIRC it supposedly enhances virility. Why don't they just use viagra? Anyway, maybe another thing I wouldn't eat is shark fin soup due to the "fishing" practices. More "palatable" example? Sharks are often caught and finned and the fish thrown back in. Mostly still alive.

that's a mistake that some people who do atkins make. They assume that since they are not eating carbs, they are cool. Some of them don't look at overall calorie intake, and still gain weight.

here in China a protein shake is a foreign concept, so searching for different sources available locally...spoke to my schools pe teacher......turtle...he reckons we should eat freakin turtle .......

apparently more than 10 x protein of eggs??? can't f*ck with that logic but forgive me 'cause I plan to do it and enjoy the respective health....

    how about just eating fish?

"Eating turtle eggs is very common in Costa Rica and Central America
Countries. People believe that are afrodisiac. We did a chemistry
annalisis from the olive ridley eggs. we found that turtle egg is a half
of a hen egg in all their properties: proteins, carbohidrates, water
content, ash, fats, colesterol etc. The only difference was the turtle
egg have more protein content in the shell.."

here's something else I found. scroll down until you see turtle.

Stfu BL. I was trying to start up a legitimate discussion. I am able to discuss *****es without childish giggling. I hoped you would be able to too. Anyway, if you can't, then FC's example was a good illustration of why I wouldn't eat freshwater turtles/tortoises either. I know about saltwater ones and freshies in Oz. I suspected as much about freshies in SE Asia but held my tongue. Thanks FC.
