But if we mean that beautiful plant Mitragyna speciosa - well, I'm quite fond of that bush.
And here we are both in agreement:
Mitragyna speciosa, common name: Kratom, a tree, growing up to 50 feet tall, native to Thailand and Malaysia. The leaves of the tree are traditionally chewed for their effects, which are described as a combination of narcotic and stimulant. Kratom is used by some as an opium substitute (in tea, smoked, or chewed) and has been found to suppress symptoms of opiate withdrawal. As with opium, it is known for causing constipation, and is sometimes used as a treatment for diarrhea.

    This one? Yeah.

I'm not a fan of Buchanan/Paleoconservatism/Reform but I think American politics would be much better off if people were aware of and understood them (if only because it would challenge the popular black-and-white, us-versus-them thinking by introducing a set of beliefs which is neither "us" nor "them").

He certainly gets carried away with the Israel stuff. But I find that he has an internally-consistent set of beliefs here, whereas I find the popular conspiracy theories to be mere naysaying (whatever "the other side" does is wrong simply because it was "the other side" who did it) with no internal consistency and little interest in truth. I don't happen to agree with his set of beliefs, but I'm more sympathetic to it for this reason.

funny as hell. Its what many people were thinking but the news didn't say.

    Moore mixes humor with diss-illusionment.

Funny, I saw this movie while visiting friends on the Oregon coast....where because of "homeland security" budgets have been cut so that there is 1 state trouper on 101 (albeit coast guard for drug trade) The audence was yelling "Beach party!!!" One cop, a stateline of coast. Plus half the time he's in the office.

"Spin" as in the "No spin zone" on FOX, a station revealed in the documentary to be run by Bush's first cousin.

No wonder they are so vehemently "NO SPIN" Pro Bush.

Right Wing and Republican are antiquated terms, I would vote for any republican, libertarian or communist so long as he/she isn't a prostitute for corporations.

I loved the part that was saying that we pay the president 400,000, but when a Saudi Oil corporations pays 1.5 Billion over 4 years, "Whose your daddy?"

Bought the last tickets to last nights showing. Where can I begin?

A mother crying to God to punish us (ie america) for killing her family which had nothing to do with the war. "God is the one who could punish these people for causing such death and destruction." she said. A plea to the Most High to kill is a drastic plea for justice.

"Booming a country which had never attacked america nor had plans to attack america." They had weapons of mass destruction?

The Sholdiers saying bush is wrong and they want to come home.

High goverment officials who strongly back the war but yet would not send their kids to fight in it. Targeting poor people and high school students for new recuits. What does an 18 year old know about killing? How do you live with the thought you killed someone at such a young age. Let alone them being killed or worst having their legs and arms blown off at 18 years old the prime of your lie.

There was so much information and i am sure alot was propaganda but between the lines is the turth if you really want it.

    Dear God please send

    That was justice.

Knowing that, be sure the situation really requires it before you demand more.

A lot of my friends who are politically inactive say they now hate Bush. Its getting all the swinging voters to swing towards Kerry. Either that or giving Nader enough votes to get nat'l funding next year (farfetched, I know).

Like it or not, Moore is making ripples in this pond called America and its spreading rapidly. Its extremes here in the states:
    Either you love Bush
Or you hate Bush...I've yet to see someone say "yeah, he's alright." This is the Vietnam of my generation, controversy wise. All sorts of musicians, actors, etc. are rallying against the Bush regime. Regardless how liberal they may be all the Anti-Bush Pop Culture really does effect the polls...MTV is know to be a network that doesn't promote thinking for yourself...just look at how they cram Brittany Spears down our throats...

I remain of the opinion that the Democrats have become so rage- and hate-filled not because of anything this administration has done, but because they fear that if they lose this election, it will signal a sea change in American politics, and the Democratic Party will have to reconstruct itself from the top down. Thus they'll throw every rage-bomb they can, and even speak well of and defend inexcusably dishonest hate-merchants because they think it will help them drive up the base in November.

Honestly, I'm waiting for one of them to say "extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice."

The Bush administration/ neocons are kind of like health food nuts. They think if they set up these impossible tasks and have zero money left that that's like "the way". we're living on nuts and berries now aren't we.

Really? That's awesome! I'm not at all a born-again, I just like some of the music: Pedro the Lion and Jeremy Enigk especially.

On the other hand, there's yet reason to believe that a strong counter-neoconservative current may contribute to the reconstruction of the Republican Party. When National Review is publishing harshly critical pieces, the counter-movement is no longer fringe.

Ever read about Leo Strauss, the neo-con patron saint?

A second fundamental belief of Strauss’s ancients has to do with their insistence on the need for secrecy and the necessity of lies. In his book Persecution and the Art of Writing, Strauss outlines why secrecy is necessary. He argues that the wise must conceal their views for two reasons – to spare the people’s feelings and to protect the elite from possible reprisals.

The people will not be happy to learn that there is only one natural right – the right of the superior to rule over the inferior, the master over the slave, the husband over the wife, and the wise few over the vulgar many....

Now, the ancients were determined to keep this tyrannical teaching secret because the people are not likely to tolerate the fact that they are intended for subordination; indeed, they may very well turn their resentment against the superior few. Lies are thus necessary to protect the superior few from the persecution of the vulgar many.

The effect of Strauss’s teaching is to convince his acolytes that they are the natural ruling elite and the persecuted few. And it does not take much intelligence for them to surmise that they are in a situation of great danger, especially in a world devoted to the modern ideas of equal rights and freedoms. Now more than ever, the wise few must proceed cautiously and with circumspection. So, they come to the conclusion that they have a moral justification to lie in order to avoid persecution. Strauss goes so far as to say that dissembling and deception – in effect, a culture of lies – is the peculiar justice of the wise.

Strauss justifies his position by an appeal to Plato’s concept of the noble lie.
