You're right. I was drunk and retract my statement and apologize.

Still, it goes to show that nothing is completely predictable. When Gong was killed, a lot of folks made noise about how ma was obsolete as a fighting skill in the age of firearms. Rivera's story lets us know that all kinds of things are possible.

Well, assuming the boxer was innocent, cheers to him.

wait a minute, I thought taking someone out who had a gun, with martial arts was suposed to be impossible?

ooooh waaaaiiitt, he was a boxer, so sport guy, no wonder he did the impossible. Now if he were studying kungfu he would have just got shot.

That second headline should have read:

Martial Arts Instructor takes out Crack Hobo with unloaded gun

    who knows eh?

maybe anyone can get their 15 minutes if they work in a 24 hour gas/convenience store for the night shift in a dingy area of town!

what a great way to test your martial arts skills!!!

KL where does it say the gun was unloaded?

One of the first jobs I had, my boss there claimed he had a guy pull a rifle on him, to rob him at a "Plaid Pantry" store, pretty much the same scenario.
It was a lever action rifle. The guy racked it & threatened him. Steve kind of froze...the guy racked it again! No cartridge was ejected: my boss knew then that the gun wasn't loaded & whaled on the robber. This would have happened around 1984-ish, Vancouver WA...

It's got to take some serious sack to stand there with a rifle barrel actually pressing you & try to get out of that one...he (this Jacksonville guy) must have waited for some kind of opening, & exploited it

I wonder if the guy provided the picture of himself, or the paper dug that up on their own.
