OMG! The new shaolin logo is a steaming turd!

Gene, I just read the new issue and in your publisher's note, you show the new 'official' logo and it's a pile of crap! Seriously! What gives? Is that Shaolin or what?

beauty in the eye of the beholder

The new logo is appearing on a lot of the 'high-end' shaolin stuff - some really nice stuff actually - it very classy, not cheesy like a lot of the touristy mementos being pawned off in the last two decades. The meditating figure is in the style of local folk art, which I believe echos some of the ancient art of the area, but I'm not sure about that. To me, it looks like whipped cream with a cherry on top.

I remember in San Jose, CA, we had a similar observation on a quetzalcoatl statue. The buddhist retort might be like KL's, that abstract art is kind of a mirror, but then again, the buddhist retort should be unattached to turd fixations. In fact, I remember when studying in an Ashram in Rishikesh India, we had a big discussion of turd mandalas.

    lol - gold indeed!!

Now I don't know but I been told
it's hard to run with the weight of gold
Other hand I heard it said
it's just as hard with the weight of lead

You weren't the only one to pick up on that quote here. I probably shouldn't have said not to quote me. That's an open invitation to do just that.

    where, oh where?

Where is my legion of die-hard, never-say-die warriors who will die for me? While we're at it, let's make them ninjas. Better yet, ninjettes. Bring me the ninjettes that will die for me. Bring 'em smothered in nacho sauce. Bring me my nacho-smothered ninjettes!

Now I'm just trying to get people to quote me...
