Hey guys
I'm sorry to complain, I love the magazine more than anyone however every month the gap between when the magazine arrives in newsstands and when it arrives at my house is greater. The next issue comes out on newstands almost right after mine arrives. My question is why, us loyal subscribers should be considered. Once again, of course I love the magazine and everything, i'm just wondering why?

Magazine distribution is a funny business. Dates are really soft. There is an established 'on-stand' date - for example, our latestSep Oct 2004 issue's on stand was Aug 3rd. But they way that our issues are delivered from our printer to our distributor, that date is far from exact. Sometimes shipments arrive early, sometimes later - the individual retailers play a big role in when a magazine is put out on the newstands. They never really pay attention to release dates unless it's something like Harry Potter.

We send out to our subscribers about a day after we recieve the issue because it takes us a day to stuff sales info or the occasional goody into the subscriber package. Those go out a good two weeks before we are supposed to hit newsstands. Given a week or so delivery, the timing should be perfect. Of course, that scenario is in a perfect world and we live in something far from that, so I'm afriad you're going to have to live with a little delay in your area. Our apologies. Last year, we did change our shipping method to expedite subscriber delivery, but it only imporved the situation for some subscribers. At least you save on the cover price by subscribing.
