Thanks.

anyways, generally,
shaolin - one of the major melting pot of CMA. It can be divide into two systems. Northern and southern. northern system favor open structure (e.g., when attack, arm fully extents, do not hold a tight guard, fluid footwork)
southern - favor closed structure, hold a tight guard, more static footwork as compare to northern system.
wing chun is a branch influenced by the southern system.
wushu can be translated as martial arts. in modern usage, it represents the gymnastic performance version of CMA created by PRC.
dazed and confused
wushu is about jumping around in silk kung fu clothes waving weapons around like a jet li movie
wing chun is about politics and lineage flame wars
Shaolin is a resturaunt i think over off of 34th and main st.

Sao gerk seung siu, mo jit jiu - Hands and feet defend accordingly, there are no secret or unstoppable maneuvers.
-Yip Man
Wushu is the technique of fighting.
Wu Yi is the art (why and how) of fighting.
Wu Xue is the study of fighting, tactics and strategy, and everything about fighting.
Shaolin is a Buddhist temple where Chan Buddhism (Mahayana) started.
Shaolin Kung Fu monks studied MA over 2000 years. People like to say it started with Damo 1500 years ago. Luo Han (arhat) and Yi Jing Jing were taught to the monks by Damo, the first patriarch of Chan Buddhism.
Wing Chun was said to be passed by a Buddhist nun to Yen Yong Tzun as a crash defense course for women 400 years ago.
Fo Shan has many divisions of Kung Fu. Pan Nam Dai Shi taught WC as an internal art. Yip Man was made famous by Bruce Lee. WC is the most popular Kung Fu in the world. While Tai Ji is the most practiced physical activity on the planet.
Shaolin Quan are usually with a big frame (large movements) and a lot of sweeping legs and stepping foot.
Shaolin is most famous for its 36 staffs. There are 18 bronze men Zhen and 36 chambers of Kung Fu.
Wushu nowadays means the gym moves with flashing cartwheel and jumps.
Wushu is vying into the world games and Olympic 2008.
Personally for southern boxing (Nan Quan), I am a big fan for Choy Lee Fut. Especially the dragon 18 sets (Zhuan Long 18 Ge). I also study Tiger crane and Hung Gar etc and etc.

1.Chang Quan(Long Fist): A combination of 5 famous northern styles: Cha, Hua(China?) Quan, Hua(flower) Quan, Hong(Red) Quan(An old Shaolin style), and Pao(Cannon) Quan
2.Nan Quan(Southern Fist): A Southern combination style, the Southern equivelent of Chang Quan
3.Taiji Quan(Tai Chi): Combined the most famous Taiji styles.
4.San Shou: A full contact fighting sport using punching, kicking, and throwing. Based off an older military training method, it's now a popular mixed martial arts venue. You get people from all kinds of styles competiting in San Shou now. lkfmdc wrote a couple good articles on the forum about this, so do a search to learn more.
People usually choose to excel in either one or the other(routine competition or fighting competition), though occasionally there are crossover athletes(like Jason Yee and Javon Holmes). It's just to difficult to excel in both, esp. as the required difficulty levels in both rise.
Here's video of some wushu:
