    Submission combinations and counters

Ok... I thought about doing a chin na combinations/counters thread, then a throw combination/counter thread...but the differing terminology will make it too hard. Seems however, that submission terminology is basically the same all over. So....
I need some combinations and counters to work... So, all you BJJ guys, shoot!

Oh yeah, feel free to give any advice about the combinations or counters that may help when applying them. Descriptions of techniques isnt really necessary... Just the names.

    thanks,

    Heres one

B is in As scarf hold.

A has a vice like head lock and is squeezing to make it as uncomfortable as possible for B.

B reaches up with his far arm and tries to snake it under As chin/nose and lever up with it to create space

A immediately turns his hips over into side control, grabs the arm under his chin and pulls it down into a fig 4/ americana/ top wrist lock.

B, to counter, straightens his arm, so A cups the tricep of the outstreched arm, brings his knee up, spins round and falls down into an arm bar.

B grabs his hands together to counter so A sits up and folds his arms over Bs outsretched arm and does a short arm scissor, shearing the forearm to get the sub.

    Follow that?

I would contribute but, oh yeah, I had to move and there's no bjj/sub school around me anymore

Wait, here's one. How about Mr. Sub squares off against Mr. TMA, and then beats the crap out of him? That's a good one!

that's mistake #1 for B. never give up a limb. B should either bridge and roll, take As back (If A is only securing his head, not his head and far arm, which he is not in this case) or bridge, slide the knee closest to A's hip under his hip, then roll him the opposite direction.

B, to counter, straightens his arm, so A cups the tricep of the outstreched arm, brings his knee up, spins round and falls down into an arm bar.

IMO, that's mistake #2 for B. Don't straighten the arm - bring it closer to you. As long as you kill A's angle, the americana isn't a threat.

B grabs his hands together to counter so A sits up and folds his arms over Bs outsretched arm and does a short arm scissor, shearing the forearm to get the sub.

B is at this moment a sitting duck. Instead of grabbing the arm, he should've turned into the armbar and attempted to escape. I know that's easier said than done, however - timing has to be right on. I got my arm popped attempting it.

One that should make sense to a kf guy. From guard, set up a cross body armbar. when the guy pulls him arm back to protect it, trap the pulled arm and reach around the back and hang on to the opponents lat, then pull around and take the back. You can also trap the pulled arm and triangle as well.

I say this should make sense to kf guys, because it is really just controlling an elbow, closing a gate, and circling around.
