Now when you say that, do you mean like in the way a man loves a fine cigar? Or the way a man loves a woman?

I too am obsessed with kung fu
    you are not alone.

It helps if your partner is also a m.a. or at least has m.a. background
but there are some exceptions to that rule
alot of people on the outside find it hard to understand. but kung fu is a way of life

    Obsession

Yes I am obsessed with kung fu. I believe that you have to be a bit obsessed with something to truly be great at it. I am lucky. My fiance' totally supports my obsession. She says she'd rather have a guy who was happy from endorphines, in good shape from training, and able to protect her, than a guy who sat around, got fat, and whined about all the training he used to do before he got married. She also plans to start training with me soon.

Obession is only on the surface.

I am possessed by Kung Fu.

Or I am in possession of Kung Fu.

    Me is Kung Fu.

    Kung Fu is Me.

This is Chan/zen or one pointed/single pointed mind.

Everything is lucid or in the light.

I am enlightened by Kung Fu.

    I have Tong Bei shoulder.

    Tai Ji waist.

    Ba Gua steps.

    Tong Bei 5 palms.

    Xing Yi 5 fists.

My chest enclosing a Tai Ji.

My steps are as heavy as a lying bull and yet so light as to be able to walk on thin ice.

My mind and posture have Yin and Yang all the time.

My inner 3: Jing Qi Sheng are in harmony.

My outer 3: skin, ligaments/tendons and bone are in harmony.

And most important of all, I have the mind of a Buddha.

    In short;

Kung Fu is a method or a path.

Kung Fu cultivates your body and mind.

So that you have balance, healthy mind and body and hopefully live longer.

Master Liu Yun Qiao said CMA is about the heart/Xin.

Buddhists give you the method of meditation/analysis.

Daoists give you the balance of Yin and Yang.

Ba Ji fists give you all the practices and more.

    OOPs.

    I sound like an infomercial.

    As for girls;

The one that really loves or likes you as who you are including you practicing Kung Fu.

It is the one to keep.

Slap on my face left and right.

I have to go back to my Monk mode, which is no--

i think and agree that a certain amount of obbession has to come along inside you for real improvement to blossom. Someone at kung fu criticised me in a round abouts way saying 'oh yea craig you always train blagh blagh'......in the end im just like well if i enjoy it and want to improve then who gives a ****.
I ride bmx/flatland and i used to ride 5 hours everyday for about 5 years. These days i am more kung fu orientated seen as i am fairly new to it and am in the beginning stage of my martial arts life but eventually i hope to do equal amounts of riding and mantis.

ps: i wouldnt worry about it. I helps coz my girlfriend does kung fu with me but in the end as long as you dont neglect her then she should be ok with you enjoying training. why not ask her to come along aswell?

    harmony.
I do not get this quote. I have been a follower of daoism for about 7 years but i do not understand you. Everything has yin and yang as the forces are everywhere. You make it sound like you have to gain or develop yin and yang by saying you have it.....everything has it.
Do you mean you have an understanding of it and how it applies to your fighting?

And most important of all, I have the mind of a Buddha.
Are you a taoist or buddhist?
Buddha means enlightened one as you know- are you truely enlightened?!?!?! Im not doubting you but i know people who have searched their whole life for enlightenment and never found it.

    MF;

You are right. I mean that my mind has the nature of a Buddha.

Such as loving kindness, compassion, forgiveness, understanding, considerateness and mercifulness etc. from the realization of non self.

"Use a heart to measure a heart" (Jian Xin Bi Xin).

There are a lot of things I do not know. So I am not the one that knows it all.

True. Yin and Yang coexist in everything including our mind and body.

However, most people do not focus or are not aware of them in pairs.

Most of things in previous posts are referring to the techniques.

In order to have those levels of techniques, we have to train our bodies in a certain way.

That is why they all take time. Thus the name is Kung Fu.
