    Greetings..

Not only have i trained with Art, i consider him a friend as well.. he is knowledgable, capable and good at transmitting the knowledge.. and, if that's not enough, he's personable and has a good sense of humor.. The Farm is excellent for training, and i hope to make it over.. i was disappointed to hear Master Li couldn't make it, but i understand the politics.. my attendance will be mitigated by a sinus rot that is currently attacking me, and the unfortunate relocation of my classes.. but, if good intentions pay-off, i'll see you-all at Art's

    Be well..

    Spring Festival with Art D'Agostino

I just came back from a 3 day intensive with master Art D'Agostino. It was awesome! This man is an open book when it comes to internal martial arts. To start off with Shang Wu Farms is about 13 acres of some of the nicest country you will find with lakes and horses. The location alone allows for the student to immerse themselves in a state of relaxation and calmness (it was worth just for the vacation). Add to the location the years of training and knowledge of master arthur, who practices the style of Chen Taiji practical method of Hong Jun Sheng. It was very informative. I practiced techniques from the form and then what I really liked was he explained and drilled how to apply the techniques in push hands. Wicked Stuff. Wicked Workout. I highly recommend Art Laoshi to anyone wanting to take an awesome seminar, not matter what your style or skill level.

Nah, man, this isn't a commercial. I had an awesome time and wanted to let everyone know about it. By the way the form that we worked on was I Lu. Is there any tai chi or push hands competitions in texas?

Just merged a few Spring Festival threads together...

...they are all dated as they are seminar announcements, but I thought I'd do the merge anyway, just because I really wanted to post this:

Chinese tech company offers night with Japanese porn star as year-end bonus

    04 Feb 2015
    Ryan Kilpatrick

Spring Festival/Chinese New Year is fast approaching, and with only two weeks to go before the biggest date on the Chinese calendar, employees nationwide are turning their thoughts to the enduring promise of a new year bonus that'll make all their hard work worthwhile.

Thanks to a viral story that's been making the rounds online recently, however, everyone who doesn't work at Baidu, Alibaba, 360, Xiaomi or Tencent is seething with jealousy.

"Web Companies Annual Meeting Gift List 2015 (Confidential)" claims to enumerate all the possible awards that await the best and the brightest from these tech firms if they've performed exceptionally over the past year.

In amongst all the sports cars and all-expenses-paid holidays on offer, however, one item on the list caught netizens' eyes more than any other: a night with famous the Japanese porn star known simply as JULIA.

Beijing-based Qihoo 360 is supposedly offering its best employees a night with the busty 27-year-old AV actress as the the very highest of its "Special Grade Awards," nestled between a five-day trip to Bali and a Porsche 911.

The star of such unforgettable classics as J-Cup Super Boobs, Jumbo Breast Teacher and Tit Slave, JULIA has a massive following in China, where she's lauded as "the Lin Chi-ling of porn," referencing the 40-year-old Taiwanese actress cum model who continues to be voted the "Most Beautiful Goddess" in the Chinese world.

Although the story is almost certainly untrue, however, the fact neither 360 nor any of the other companies exposed in the story have deemed to issue denials means that it'll die hard. Editors over at Xinhua, meanwhile, are presumably wishing they tried a lot harder at math and sciences back in their school days.

This one is a little more on topic...

    ...but not nearly as fun

Chinese Embassy in Astana Hosts Spring Festival Gala
By Yelden Sarybay in Society on 4 February

ASTANA – The Chinese Embassy in Kazakhstan held a theatrical gala concert titled, “The Happy Spring Festival” on Jan. 30 at the Palace of Peace and Harmony.

Ambassador Zhang Hanhui and Minister Arystanbek Mukhamediuly

“Our countries, which have existed together here on the Silk Road since ancient times, have been inseparable and friendly neighbours for quite some time. Today, we must continue to strengthen our relationship and leave only friendship and kindness for the next generation,” Minister of Culture and Sports Arystanbek Mukhamediuly said during the opening of the concert while wishing everyone a happy holiday.

Ambassador of China to Kazakhstan Zhang Hanhui noted that, “the Happy Spring Festival has brought the people of the two countries closer together and that will pave the way for further cooperation.”

The event included a wu-shu performance and instrumental solos on traditional Chinese instruments like the erhu and suona. Artists from Zhengzhou Theatre of Song and Dance and the Tago Shaolin Martial Arts School staged the performances.

Pupils from the Tago Shaolin Martial Arts School have won international Shaolin Kung Fu tournaments. They were also invited to perform at the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games in Athens, at the opening ceremony of the World Special Olympics 2013, the Asian Games and the opening and closing of the Beijing Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Zhengzhou Theatre of Dance and Song is a professional artistic team operated by the Chinese government and has repeatedly been awarded the Lotus Dance Prize. The dance group performed a spectacular swan dance, a fan dance and colourful folk dances.

Present at the event were officials from Kazakhstan’s Foreign Ministry, Director of the National Museum Darkhan Mynbai and foreign dignitaries based in Kazakhstan. More than 1,300 people attended the event celebrating the traditional Chinese New Year. Tickets started at 500 tenge (US$2.70).

The Chinese Embassy presented the citizens of Kazakhstan with books on the Chinese traditional Spring Festival and geological knowledge about China.

Chunjie, or the spring festival, is the most solemn traditional festival in China. It symbolises tranquility, harmony, happiness, prosperity and all that is beautiful. People traditionally make New Year’s wishes.

The art troupe will stage four more performances in Almaty, Kazakhstan and Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

Its out there, in 2022 Spring Festival Gala 1/4 from 1:05:22 to the end. Never seen tai chi like that, literally:

There was also some slapstick kung fu in the 2022 Spring Festival Gala 2/4 from 1:07:59 to the end:

My favorite segment was in the 2022 Spring Festival Gala 4/4 from 48:57 to 53:23 but it was more art than martial art:
