    Spring Festival

The ta'i chi spring festival will be happening in 2002 at the University of Alaska Anchorage. I will be providing date/times soon, for any whom are interested in traveling up to the great land of Alaska to learn from some of the greatest taijiquan players as well as share and learn from the many practitioners here in Alaska.

To name just a "few" of those who will be here: Master Liang, Shou-Yu, who is an expert in taijiquan and has written a book titled "Tai Chi Chuan". You can find his bio at http://www.ymaa.com/AuthorBioPages/mliangbio.html
Master Liang as I was told today just confirmed so we will be very excited to welcome him here and learn as much as we can from this amazing martial artist.

Almanzo "Lao Ma" Lamoureux, M.A. will also be here, from the Magic Tortoise taijiquan School. Website: http://www.magictortoise.com/

Also Warren Pretlow, who is local to Alaska.

There will be others as well, and I will add to this thread as I get names & more information. I will try to share as much as possible about what classes will be offered during the festival, and some of the great stuff that we gain from it. Hopefully we will get a fair amount of photos also so we can post those on the web for all to see.

Of course everyone is invited, and if you would like more information feel free to email me, I believe my email is in my profile and if it is not beng@bored.com will reach me.

The dates/times/seminars/classes will be posted in this thread, look forward to hearing from you and feel free to post questions/comments.

    Greetings..

Just a note of support.. Art is a gifted and sincere practitioner of the Arts.. his talent alone is worth the price of admission, but with other presenters this is a real treat.. (Thanks, Art)

    Spring Festival with Art Laoshi

Is anyone else going to the spring festival at Shang Wu farms with Master Art D'Agostino? Master Arthur will be doing a 3 day intensive seminar. It will be fantastic and I recommend it to anyone regardless of skill. Has anyone else trained with Art Laoshi before?

    Spring Festival with Art D'Agostino

I just came back from a 3 day intensive with master Art D'Agostino. It was awesome! This man is an open book when it comes to internal martial arts. To start off with Shang Wu Farms is about 13 acres of some of the nicest country you will find with lakes and horses. The location alone allows for the student to immerse themselves in a state of relaxation and calmness (it was worth just for the vacation). Add to the location the years of training and knowledge of master arthur, who practices the style of Chen Taiji practical method of Hong Jun Sheng. It was very informative. I practiced techniques from the form and then what I really liked was he explained and drilled how to apply the techniques in push hands. Wicked Stuff. Wicked Workout. I highly recommend Art Laoshi to anyone wanting to take an awesome seminar, not matter what your style or skill level.

TANGSHAN, China--(BUSINESS WIRE)--"WLF Global Kung Fu Gala and 18th Anniversary Celebration" was successfully held in Tangshan, Hebei, China. Since its inception in 2012, the WLF Global Kung Fu Gala is now in its 10th year. It is the highest standard event of fighting in China and the top presentation of standing fighting in the world.

Since the launch of WLF on January 3, 2004, WLF has traveled over 3 million kilometers to 36 countries and regions on five continents. On the same day, the 4th World Combat "Golden Boxing Award" ceremony was fully opened and all the awards were announced after the grand red-carpet ceremony. The 18th anniversary celebration of Martial Arts was one of the important events of the evening. The three stars of WLF, Wang Hongxiang, Yilong and Fang Bian, who enjoy a high reputation in the Chinese combat industry, performed on stage. Its out there, in 2022 Spring Festival Gala 1/4 from 1:05:22 to the end. Never seen tai chi like that, literally:

There was also some slapstick kung fu in the 2022 Spring Festival Gala 2/4 from 1:07:59 to the end:

My favorite segment was in the 2022 Spring Festival Gala 4/4 from 48:57 to 53:23 but it was more art than martial art:
