There are a few stories associated with the Dragon spitting out the pearl, playing with it, swallowing it again etc etc.

    Here's some neat Dragon tales.

The tiger and the dragon are also symbolic. The tiger being real and tangible like the body, and the dragon being more of an essence and intellectual representation of an otherwise intangible thing... like the mind.

The tiger being the body and the dragon being the spirit is the general idea.

the analogies, stories and legends wrapped around these two are myriad. Get that google going and scope out your book store and library. There is literraly tons of information available.
