    BIO:

Hu Xi Lin brings nearly 50 years of martial experience to Albuquerque to share with any and all interested in learning. He spent over 30 years with Ma Han Qin Laoshi perfecting the arts of Mei Hua Tanglang, Liu He Tanglang, and Yang Taiji. Mr. Hu also spent 12 years with Pu Liu Laoshi mastering Shuai Chiao. By age 16 Hu Laoshi had a reputation throughout Beijing as being a relentlessly successful fighter. He has spent his entire life analyzing, teaching, and evolving the Traditional Chinese Arts to a level few have seen in or out of China. His skills are unrivaled when it comes to integrating all aspects of the fighting arts. Hu Laoshi lives and teaches out of Richmond B.C.

    I am pleased to host my teacher, Hu Xi Lin Laoshi, for a wonderful seminar on the 12 Keyword Principles found in Praying Mantis boxing. The 12 Keywords represent certain fighting theories and strategies, when applied to combat cover all four areas of fighting shuai, na, ti, da (throw, lock, kick, strike). These principles can be applied in a variety of ways and with various self defense scenarios. Here is an example of just a few of the principles that will be covered;
    (zhan) "contacting"
    (nian) "sticking"
    (bang) "linking"
    (tie) "pressing"
    (lai) "approaching"
    (jiao) "provoking-grabbing"

Hu Laoshi combines all these aspects into a free flowing fighting method that can be used as effectively and the street as in the ring, with or without Boxing Gloves. Students of varied interest will not want to miss this exciting opportunity to train with one of the best in world!
Hu Xi Lin spent over 30 years as a closed door disciple of Ma Han Qin Laoshi in the arts of Taiji Mei Hua (Grand Ultimate Plum Blossom) and Liu He (Six Harmonies) Praying Mantis, as well as Yang Taiji. He also spent over 12 years with Pu Liu Laoshi, a notorious wrestler in Beijing, learning Shuai Chiao.
Hu Laoshi will combine all this experience to change your perspective on how to apply techniques from the Traditional Martial Arts. He will use the Mantis systems as his base, but this seminar is open to all ranks, styles, and levels. No matter what your background is your fighting skills will benefit from this training. Touching hands with Hu Laoshi will be like no other experience! Do not miss this opportunity to train with one of the best!
    You will learn:
    • The importance of Ting Jing (Listening Power) and how to apply it
    • How to exploit your opponents weaknesses
    • How to bridge the gap quickly, effectively, and with confidence
    • How to flow from one technique to another, effortlessly adjusting to your opponent regardless of his technique
    • How to combine locks, throws, strikes, and takedowns without hesitation
    • A plethora of applications from the aggressive and effective styles of Mei Hua Tanglang.

Seminar size will be capped to ensure personal attention, so please reserve your space with Mr. Jake Burroughs ASAP. Hu Laoshi will also be available for private lessons.
Please direct any and all questions to Hu Xi Lin’s only US representative Mr. Jake Burroughs at:

    Talking Wow... Jake

Let there be video taping, let there be video taping... [hint, hint, Jake] I am drooling over this but unable to make it there.

All the best to Hu Laoshi and the seminar.

No worries if you cannot join us. Keep your ears to the ground as I may be coming to Germany. Nothing written in stone yet, but I am working with a buddy trying to get there this summer, and if I do I would want to visit with Mantis players/brothers in Europe. I would also like to offer a seminar out there.

    Cheers

Good luck Jake on your trip to Germany. For those of you who possibly could get this chance to train with Jake... do not miss out! Jake is undoubtedly one of the best I have learned from, a very good Teacher... with some humor!

Hu Xi Lin`s visit to New Mexico is one of those occasions that you need not miss!

    Thumbs up Thanks!

Just wanted to thank all of you that made this weekend with Hu Laoshi a HUGE success! Especially Yu Shan, and Cottrell Laoshi (and all his students). Your support is always appreciated, and Hu Laoshi loved to see everyone improve so much since 6 months ago.
    Thanks again
    Jake
