    Tyra did it again!

If Tyra entered any of her girls in our KungFuMagazine.com’s NINJA STAR contest, they'd kick all our asses.

America’s Next Top Model Cycle 13: Episode 7 Recap

On tonight’s episode of America’s Next Top Model, the girls get a chance to prove they can book a job in the go-see challenge.

The girls get a Tyra mail that reads, “How driven are you? You will found out tomorrow.” They think that they will be doing something with bumper cars, but they have no idea they will be driving around in LA traffic to go from client to client to book jobs. The girls start at Wilhelmina Modeling Agency and get the low down. They will be paired up into teams of two and will have to drive to as many go-sees as they can and get back by 4:00 or else they will be disqualified. And they don’t have GPS in their cars; they are given paper foldout maps instead.

The teams are Jennifer and Erin, Sundai and Rae, Brittany and Kara, and Nicole and Laura. One of the stops is a Wong Doody ad agency where the girls will read a script for an on-air program teaser. The girls also visit Rozae Nichols who is casting for a look book and a runway show. Trina Turk is the next stop and they are casting for a photo shoot. They also visit Neil Lane a luxury jewelry line that is casting for a runway show.

It is nearing 4:00 and most of the girls start heading back to the modeling agency. Sundai and Rae think they can squeeze in one more go-see before returning. Bad idea. They are the last ones there at fifteen minutes late.

When Sean meets with the girls he was so angry with Sundai and Rae that he told them to wait outside because he didn’t even want them in the room. Sean gives the rest of the girls their critiques.

The clients liked Jennifer but they thought she had too much make up on and they couldn’t see her. They thought Laura had a cute and fresh look but showed little range and her commercial casting. Kara had a strong walk but she looked a little scruffy. The clients thought Brittany had a glamorous look but she was a little robotic. Erin also had a very good walk but she looked too timid. They loved Nicole’s face but they thought she lacked energy.

The winner is Nicole and she will receive a piece from each of the client’s collection including a pair of diamond earrings and will receive a role in a national commercial.

That night the girls receive their next Tyra Mail that reads, “Float like a butterfly, pose like me. The competition is getting fierce. Y’all could use a secret weapon.” The girls all think it is a Victoria Secret photo shoot, but it couldn’t be further from the truth.

The next day the girls arrive at a studio that is decked out with martial arts weapons. Jay Emanuel greets them and tells them that they will be working with the weapons and posing like a martial arts pros in a harness in mid-air. Before the shoot they will all get a chance to train with martial arts instructor Deborah Chen.

Nicole is up first and she has a great performance and looks like a true martial arts pro. Jay loved Jennifer and what she brought set and how she worked her face. Erin had a strong performance and looked like a magical elf in the air. Kara is next and picks one of the hardest weapons there is and works it to make her look longer. Kara struggles a little in her shoot and doesn’t hit very dynamic poses. Brittany has a great fierce look and her face appears great in the light. Rae has trouble projecting her natural energy onto film. Sundai has trouble bringing grace to her shoot and gets stuck in the same poses.

The girls arrive at panel the next day and supermodel Jessica White is this week’s judge. The judges love Jennifer, Nicole, Erin and Laura. They like Rae’s look but aren’t sure that she is a model. They think Sundai struggled and got stuck in some of her poses. They also think that Kara got lost in the shoot and just didn’t live up to the potential she thought they had.

Nicole gets best photo of the week, and her photo will be displaying in the house as digital art. Tyra calls Laura next, then Brittany, Erin, Jennifer, and Rae. Sundai and Kara are in the bottom two. The judges think Kara has very strong face, but from week to week she seems lost and can’t nail a picture. The judges like Sundai because as the shortest model of the bunch she is the underdog, but it seems she is stuck in a 3/4 face. In the end the judges chose Kara to go.

Wonder how many of the contestants know who Nicholas Tse is...

America’s Next Top Model Recap: Fighting Martial Arts Style And Hitting New Heights
May 09, 2012 07:17 PM by Veronica Dudo

It’s one thing to be a beauty but can you be a beauty and kick some butt?!?! That’s the challenges for the models tonight when they leave Macau and head to Hong Kong to meet actor and pop star Nicholas Tse. The final five must duke it out–literally on America’s Next Top Model. Keep reading to find out who is on the chopping block on the CW’s reality TV show.

Former contestants from “Britain’s Next Top Model” and an all-new crop of American model hopefuls are competing for the grand prize. The girls from America are Laura and Eboni. The United Kingdom models include Alisha, Annaliese and Sophie. The stakes are high as the models are all vying for a spread in Italian Vogue, a celebrity hosting gig with Extra and a $100,000 contract with Cover Girl cosmetics.

    J. Alexander meets the models to tell them they will be working with one of China’s biggest celebrities to tape an action scene. The winner will fly back to Hong Kong at a later date to star in Tse’s music video. The task is to learn some fighting moves from Tse who is a huge action star. One by one the girls work to master the moves but poor Sophie she is so lady-like the other models even remark that she looks like a fairy. In the end, Laura wins that challenge and will return to be in Tse’s music video.

Back at the house, emotions are high since all of the models really wanted to win the challenge. Eboni says that Laura would sleep her way to the top! Laura busts into the room and announces to everyone that she would never do that.

The models return to the Macau Tower and are really put to the test for their photo shoot with Nigel Barker. At the location of the highest bungee jump in the world, the models will be strapped in a harness and must pose 700 feet in the air. Sophie goes first and is really scared. After she’s done she completely breaks down as the adrenaline rush diminishes. When Laura goes up she really has fun with the challenge–even waving to the girls inside.

The judge’s panel includes Tyra Banks, Nigel Barker, Kelly Cutrone and guest judge Nicholas Tse. The judges review the photos. Kelly says Annaliese is an actress not a model and Kelly calls Eboni the Scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz. Harsh!

Tyra says the model with the best photo is Laura followed by Sophie and Annaliese. Eboni and Alisha are in the bottom two. Tyra says that the judges have been disappointed week in and week out with their pictures. Tyra says that Alisha will stay therefore Eboni is leaving but Alisha interjects saying that she should go because she doesn’t know who she is anymore! Tyra tells Alisha she can go but that she will be joining Eboni. Alisha still chooses to leave! Now the competition is down to the final three.

PHOTOS: Guangxi TV makes models walk down catwalk covered in live insects
    13 Aug 2014
    Abie Epstein

Guangxi Satellite Television and an Italian fashion agency have upped the ANTi for Chinese reality shows by teaming up to stage the decisive showdown between supermodel and bug: the ultimate battle for supremacy. Talk about FLYing off the handle!

The game show aired its first two rounds of the tournament yesterday, bugging models by turning their catwalk into a gnatwalk.

The challenge: contestants strut their stuff barefoot through ten of thousands of live beetles.

Bugs were crushed, women were screaming and members of the audience were FLEAing the building. Some models even fell over into the piles of pests. All this in the name of beauty, naturally.

    And all for what, exactly?

The prize: out of the 40 beautiful women already selected from cities and provinces across the mainland, the 12 models to make it through the qualifying round will become finalists, winning a trip to Italy working in the European supermodel industrial complex. Lord all mitey, that's one way reinvent the Top Model shows!

Although the competition may look like a work of weevil and did receive a MOTHerload of cricketism, some netizens still think it's the bee's knees, exhibiting devotion to one's work.
