    Talking Happy Birthday!

Well, Jochen my friend, a toast to your good health and longivity! (a good thing that you don't hear the squeaking in my joints, lol...)

    Best wishes,

Many more Mr. Jochen! You are eight hours ahead so I am sure the party has started already. I shall drink one (or maybe two, or maybe.... )

    what is gu?

    Correct.
Gu means ancient in this case.
But he didn't mean to say gu tang lang the way we say, for example,
ba bu tang lang or qi xing tang lang.
Just that it was the old version of unadulturated tang lang or something like that.

In fact, the meaning of gu here is the same as gu zhao. Which is old and early.
So that is why I am interested by the corja tang lang group(corja=gu zhao).
    Anyone know their shifu?
Maybe he could provide interesting notes for us to ponder.
