    God of War for PS2

Does anybody have this game? It's apparently supposed to be the new end-all-be-all for action games. I bought it and played it yesterday. It's pretty cool and all, but I just don't see why everybody else thought it was so great.

It is the end all and the be-all.

And do a search for the Judge Pen thread of the same name.

You shall see the glory of the pagan God of War.

This link is to a cite that lists all the critics reviews. Since not everyone agrees with critics, let me tell you what I think. It's a great game. Not the best I've ever played, but one of the best ever for the PS2. The best graphics that PS2 can handle, brutal and adult game-play, challenging puzzles etc mixed in, but the game is beatable and fun. If you liked Greek Mythology in middle school, then it's a neat story as well.

I think I've figured it out--it's one of two things. Either:

I'm getting old and just don't enjoy video games as much as I used to

    OR

I just haven't gotten far enough yet. I only played for an hour or so yesterday. I'm about 5-10 minutes into Athens.

The graphics do kick ass, though.

It's probably a little of both!

Seriously, the game really starts to rock after you save the Oracle in Athens and she sends you out to retrieve Pandora's box.

At least 15. Then I tried to kill them. When I found out you can't kill them I went back to bed w/ them 5 more times.

Then I tried to kill them again.

Boobs are so cool. They even rock in the virtual world.

Too bad that was the only sex mini-game in the game.

Are you trying to come up with new quotes for me to use?

Glad I listened to you guys. I played some over the weekend and the ass-kickingness of this game went up several notches.

Just looking at Athens when Ares is trashing the place is friggin' awesome. I'm hooking the PS2 up to the HD bigscreen + surround sound tonight for some sweet God of War playing.

I'm sure that your wife really appreciates this game as much as you do.

She's out of town for the week.

Hence the hooking the game up to the big screen.

This game looks REALLY badass w/ progressive scan.
